Urs, are you planing to make more skins for Hive?

I must say honeycomb is a bit too "colorful", but would be nice to have something brighter then regular blue.

Hint: Virus Ti "lcd's" in vsti and Dune 2 lcd has very apealing color :)

I'm honestly hoping this is something moreso that fans do :). I'd love to see all sorts of creative skins that people come up with, like has been done for Zebra2.

Personally, I'd love a 'hardware' look for Hive, like LuSH-101, Diva, or even your Virus TI example. Wooden-panels, big knobs, that sort of thing :).

There's a lot of work on the shop today. Please try later, we've already asked for it to be put back.
Paypal option is back :tu:

Fell in love with it the moment someone mentioned it on facebook and I want to look. I love the interface and the "dirty" engine is so.... you know if there's a woman like that I would be OK with that, sweet and spicy at the same time.

Everyone is comparing it to sylenth1, but sylenth1 can't hide it's 90's sound which is good and why I wanted that in my collection.. This is more allround but still for dance. maybe sans the dubstep capabilities but that's OK

Thank you for the 10 new Hive tutorials on YouTube!

I've been looking forward to something like these. Nicely done!

Never say never! if there is something you want, say it and it might actually happen ^^.

And I agree that Sylenth1 has a 'vintage' sound to it. I think it's because of how juice and resonant it is.

well we have spire/massive for that :). So it's OK.

For dubstep, I kinda wish there was some kind of standalone synth that offers all the textures from an elemental approach, like an interface that is easy to use and enables you to set where you want growls, sweeps and gnarly basses in to some form of versatile step sequencer. And an osc section that offers the elemental basic "ready to use" waveforms that lets you make yays, growls, machine basses etc... That would be kinda cool for those people who would like to produce dubstep but withou the agonizing time wasting hassle of building everything with massive :P

So I'm ok with how hive is.....

Personally, Spire was my go-to synth before. Sylenth is happily retired, but I'm hoping Hive can get more features to retire it as well. Spire has many features and, shall we say, a 'contemporary' sound that lends itself to many MANY styles, but Hive has vastly better raw sound. By the looks of things, FM/Sync is already gonna happen :3. Hopefully the upcoming 'Morph' hexagon will also have it's own twist of the "WtMix" knob because I love Spire's capability of morphing different waveforms, or perhaps outright patches together. With something like this, Hive will definitely have plenty of depth even if it doesn't end up having as many waveforms as Spire.

As for growls and the like, you can already squeeze out vocals with Hive with the phaser. However, I've seen patches not using that effect at all. I'm hoping Hive will be expanded in the vocal department with Vowel Phasers/formant-filter/vocal-waveforms or some mixture to expand it and make it easier. I want to hear more trancey choir-esque lush vocals out of Hive, since I've actually heard more electro-ish 'dirty' vocals out of Hive already.

Since we're on the subject though, I've noted that Bazille's 'Fractal Resonance' might be a thing for Hive. I'd prefer a more traditional hard-sync effect, but you can certainly get this curious mixture of hard-sync and formants from that. Two birds with one stone :).

However it goes, congratulations u-he on finally officially releasing Hive today! :D

lush 101 is really good with that, although it's more funky sounding there :) It's ready to be put in a Daft punk song :P

How high do the LFOs go in Hz ?
is there any way to see how many Hz the LFO is set at? for audio rate - FM sounds (with LFO rate Keytracking)
I'm finding it quite difficult to tune the LFO rate to a Harmonic Ratio, against the Oscillator...

Post

Rate knob is a multiplier of the value set by "Sync". So, when you set Rate to -1.00, it's now actually 0.5 Hz (2 seconds per cycle). -2.00 is 0.25 Hz, each next whole number is halving the Hz value. When you set Rate to +1.00, LFO is now at 2 Hz. +2.00 is 4 Hz, and so on.

For harmonic ratios, it is better to use ACE or Bazille for now.

Does anybody know if it is possible to transfer my Hive license? I bought it in decemeber 2014 but never had the chance to install and activate it. The U-HE email contained instructions ("download and install Hive and put your U-HE user name and serial"), but I never did it. Now, what to do in order to transfer/resell this (never activated) license? I mean, is the SN "brand new", so that I can sell it without asking permission to U-HE, or is it connected to my U-HE username (I own other U-HE products)?
