Carla Makes T6 Linux so much more potent!

Please roll out a fixed T6 linux version to make it work again.

I cannot go back to T5 now.

Is it to say carla allows to use windows or mac vst plugins within a Linux DAW?

windows plugins on linux, yes.
there's nothing that can load mac stuff outside of mac, nothing that we can use right now.

A step forward to trash OSX and switch to Linux !
I use OSX only for music, other tasks are done within Ubuntu.

Do windows ASIO drivers work in Linux as well? I can't imagine that I could still use my UAD and focusrite Liquid mix, but even without them it is tempting.

FWIW If you're coming to Linux thinking about using Windows plugins, you'll have a bad time.
Wine (used to load Windows stuff on linux/mac) might work or not, and even when it works it can break at anytime.
Don't rely on it.

Does this also mean Carla doesn't work very well? Or what have i misunderstood?

This thread seems to portray carla's main feature as letting linux users use Windows vsts. Although this is the case, it is far from the main or best function of it. Despite the amazing things you can do with carla's internal routing, the state of Tracktion, as well as Bitwig and a few others, mean that linux users cannot use LV2 plugins which are generally the format that plugins are created in. Although lots of plugins are offered in linux vst format by developers such as falkTX, carla opens up the possibility of using LV2 (and ladspa, sf2, sfz) inside hosts like Tracktion which only support certain (inconvenient for the users) formats.

Even this probably isn't carla's best feature but it is a big advantage for a lot of people.

Thanks for that. I read some of the kxstudio links above now, and have a better handle on what it's meant to do (only looked at the github link previously)

If using Carla to host plugins in a linux host, is there PDC for those plugins in the host? Or how is that compensated for? Is it host specific?
