OK guys, I fixed the "auto-scroll" and "selected on top" bugs. It were group labels that were causing the issues. So I removed them. Due to this, the gaps between modules are now very small. I could change this but I found I kind of like it that way. Maybe you'll like it too :) As always, I'm looking forward for your feedback!

ZebraHZ.Redux.2015.0607.0109.zip

Changes:
- Removed group labels
- Fixed "auto-scroll" and "selected on top" bugs
- Diva module is now the second to last module in rack
- Added UDH theme

Now that is pretty cool. I'm still trying to force myself to like the way you shoved XYs into 4 tabs and to the left of the GUI, but it just isn't winning me over (and I do plan on getting ZHZ in due time, and I do plan to continue using Redux skin, when the crashes with user skins in Zebra are fixed!). :( I still think there's a lot of validity in having all 4 of them visible on a single tabbed page, with larger area for XY notes (like on the default Zebra skin, for example - and earlier iteration of Redux skin, of course).

Thank you drzhnn!

Could you please tell me more about those crashes? Any particular steps I should take? Because I don't have any crashed here whatsoever :?

Zebra crashes when closing the GUI if the selected default skin is Redux... Happens all the time over here in Reaper. Mind you, I have some of my own tweaks to one of your older

Urs&co are aware of the issue (it is related to the Preferences panel they implemented partially in Zebra - some segments of it are the cause for these problems), I'm just very anxious that it gets fixed!

Post

I'm on latest REAPER 5 dev build, latest Zebra and ZHZ versions, Redux set as default theme and I don't have any crashes. Like at all! There should be something else.

I guess I should flush my Zebra.data folder and install everything from scratch to see if it is something on my side. I'll post back in a bit.

Not sure what to say.

It's as easy to get it as doing this:

Hm. I cleared my UIprefs file and now it doesn't happen. Bizarre. Lemme try a cold boot and see if it's still sticking!

Post

Nope, it doesn't stick. It crashes again. Ugh. :(

Post

OK, I guess I found it.

- Close all Zebra instances
- Go to \AppData\Roaming\REAPER\presets\ and rename vst-Zebra2(x64).ini to vst-Zebra2(x64).old
- Open Zebra and select Redux theme (REAPER shouldn't crash it this point - if it does then it is the corrupted Zebra files that cause the issues and you'll need to fix them first)
- In REAPER's VST toolbar press [+] and choose "Save preset as default"

Post

That's completely unrelated to what happens over here, I don't use Reaper's preset system for Zebra at all. Yet it happens.

Post

Well, something has changed in latest Zebra build, right? They are in a process of implementing that new Preferences panel. My guess is that in current Zebra build the theme information is stored differently. And REAPER doesn't like that.

REAPER saves this kind of information with a project file or inside its preset format. For example, in Zebra you can choose Original theme, save a REAPER preset, and then change your theme to Redux and save a new preset. Now when you switch between these two presets REAPER will change Zebra theme as well. You just need to reopen the GUI to see the effect.

For some reason, In REAPER, the latest Zebra build doesn't read theme information from its own preferences file (\Zebra2.data\Data\Scripts\Zebra2default.txt), or it doesn't save it inside REAPER project, so on restart Zebra will always load the Original theme. The only way I found so far to fix this is by using REAPER's own preset system. And it works here, no crashes. That's all I know.

OK, cool. I'll wait for a fix. :)

Worst thing is, I can't find an older version (2.7.0) so I can rollback, at least...

Is build 3304 2.7 or 2.7.1? do you perchance remember?
I may still have build 3304 saved somewhere.

Build 3437 over here (2.7.1), latest official release available on the u-he website. So, I suppose 3304 would work for me, hopefully. Let's try it (found the thread on the beta forum)...
