We´re thinking about a release of the Minimoog Classics V2 Sample Library for EVE. The 500 MB multisample content is currently available in Akai S3000 format and it´s possible to convert them to EVE format. Are you EVE users interested in turning EVE into a powerful Minimoog-alike but with three polyphonic layers and all the other extras of EVE? The multisamples are huge, each single instrument is about 5-8 MBs, so the add-on would be not available as download product but on CD-R. How is your interest in this?

Klaus, you should edit your post to make it a poll so people can vote and you can see the results.

Anyway, I vote yes. ;)

Good luck!

Would there be presets as well or would it just be a soundbank?

This would include the samples and the presets.

@ squids: Thanks!

I vote yes IF it's available as a download purchase. (Maybe on DashSig's site?) Don't forget, many of us have high speed modems and regular parcel mail from Europe to North America can easily take 4-6 weeks. If mail is the only method of delivery, I'd rather do without.

voted no,

because I have already many VA-synths, and not enough money.
And I need to try before I buy. That means if it should be an outstanding product, maybe I´d change my mind.
sound is vibration, vibration is life

The product would be available from Dashsignature´s Website. The file is 500 MB, this is much for download, isn´t it? Would it be a good alternative if the file would be divided into five 100 MB pieces?

If your sample content is 500Mb of 16bit samples, you may be suprised to find that Eve's DASHsnd file format is actually 32bit, so double your current file sizes! Although you do have the option to compress them for download (using rar or zip formats), which should save some space.

Thanks for the reminder, but we´re the developer of the internal sample content as well as AOS and the already posted Vintage Keyboards add-ons, so we´re aware this. I´ll wait for more statements during the next days, this helps to make the best decision. Cheers!

The size is not too big at all! People routinely download 3-4 cd's worth of Linux distros. Demos for
large database software such as Oracle and IBM DB2
are 500++MB. Etc,etc, etc. It takes about 40 minutes or so to download 500Mb files. So you start the download and go have dinner. Is that really so hard? :)

Haven't some dev's realized the advantages of e-commerce yet? C'mon, it's 2004, not 1994! Download purchases offer instant customer satisfaction as well. Do I reall need to tell you how important that is? :?

The best is to offer cd purchase for those who still have a 56k dialup and download purchase for the many people who have high speed internet-cable, dsl, etc)

That would be a good idea.

Thanks for all your comments and we´ve got very useful infos and hints here. Next week we´ll publish the clear specifications, and the samples are already on the way to Luigi for further processing and Preset making.

The good news right now: There will be a small MB-sized Minimoog sample bank free of charge for all of you.

@db: Be happy about your download speed, there are other users with historic modems and they avoid to download anything even if the size is only 20 MB.
