They told me the sale ended June 7. I'll check.

Can't really open it with notepad, so don't think so.

Maybe you can PM CL Projects and ask, he is on the forum.

I find the bundled Kontakt stuff rather dour, it hasn't been updated since 2008.

Feels a bit like a 43GB brick on the HDD, the reason to get full Kontakt is to be able to use all the cool new third party libraries that are dirt cheap.

I wish NI would unbundle Kontakt from their factory content, so that they could sell Kontakt as a download, instead of users having to buy a box with old bundled content.

Can you point me in the right direction for non-Player third party libraries? Any orchestral/percussion/solo instruments that are a clear step up from the Factory Library?

I got the Google Play 99p issue of Computer Music (218/July 2015) and it's one of the better issues I've read in a while. There's 2 plugins included, both of which are good and the articles on Vintage sounds are actually useful. I actually read most of them, and didn't just download the content.
I miss MindPrint. My TRIO needs a big brother.

+1

Just like Playboy, I buy Computer Music for the articles :D

What about IK Multimedia Miroslav Philharmonik? It's old but got good reviews. Once in a while you can get it for sale for about $40. Just a thought. http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/mar06/a ... rmonik.htm

What is your budget?

Passing no judgement, and what musicians do in the privacy of their own homes is completely up to them - but any of the "homebrewed" "create your own .nicnt file" hacks are all in violation of the Native Instruments TOS.(Which might explain why CL-Projects no longer has it available on Sampleism)

Anyway, just in case someone didn't know, I thought I'd pass it along...

Hope this helps.

Noted. Still, NI could allow non-player instruments to be visible in Kontakt's library. There's no reason why people who purchased the full version of Kontakt shouldn't be able to view and select these instruments as such.

It depends on how essential the instrument or package is for me, but generally in the low end.

I'm still looking for a relatively dry orchestral percussion library, and better than Factory Library sounding strings and solo strings with glissando are high on my list. The ones from VSL seem nice but expensive. Aside from that, I'd like more expressive flutes/woodwinds/brass. The ones from sample-modeling seem awesome, but out of my reach. But I'm also interested in general must haves.

Thanks, but it's not entirely what I'm looking for.

Sigh, slow approach then

Thanks for responding!

PD: To know... Drummica thing is not working to get the crossgrade... is there another way?

We have some left over from the last sale.

The real news is that they no longer require a hardware iLok. The sale is mainly just to help them get the word out about this.

Post

So, they've gone to the software iLok system?
