Don't mean to hijack this thread / your questions but how do you use a launchpad in Cubase? I'm a Cubase user and I would love to be able to use my launchpad in there.

There is a script by nativeKontrol called pxt general which will allow some functionality in Cubase for push (I think it's only transport control and keyboard mode though)

Also, check out these videos, they show the push functionality in bitwig

Defintively get the Push, that's a completely different league.

I think yes for Ableton (not 100% sure), coming to Bitwig with 1.2.

There is no difference here in the two controllers. Both send and receive midi data. But I do not know of any specific support for any of them beyond Ableton and Bitwig (actually that's not 100% true since I implemented Reaper support for the Push).
Bobby L'Avenir wrote: 3) is the push screen bright enough on only USB buss power?
Yes.
Bobby L'Avenir wrote: 4) can I perform sample to slices from push
Not with Bitwig. I am not sure for Ableton.
Bobby L'Avenir wrote:5) can I control 3rd party soft synths with the knobs on push?
Yes.
Bobby L'Avenir wrote: 6) I'm assuming I can control the included bitwig devices from push including the sampler? (I've only just got bitwig so sorry for asking what may seem dumb questions)
Yes.

Thanks for the reply Moss, i just want to clarify a couple of things you said if you or anyone else knows the answer before i buy.

1) when you say browsing samples and loops from push is coming in 1.2 do you know if it will be long winded like in ableton or will it be closer to maschines simplicity?
(i know 1.2 isn't out yet so this question may be imposible to answer right now but i don't know that for sure)

2) is sample to slices something that will be added to the push for bitwig script or is it totally impossible from a coding point of view?

Lastly I don't have any desktop space left, lol, too much gear :o does anyone know of a stand that's sturdy enough to hold push, maybe a snare stand with a push adapter/bracket, does anything like this exist?

Cheers

Noone can comment on these right now. Totally, depends on Bitwigs plans and time schedules.

Yeah i guessed that would be the case so i just sent them an email as they're doing beta testing so maybe they know?

Anyway thanks for taking the time to reply Moss :tu:
I'm just gonna order it anyway, I was 100% gonna buy the new Launch Pad but an extra £31 for knobs and an lcd screen makes more sense on that front alone. I just need to find something to put it on now :help:

never mind, I see my question asked already

Hi Moss, thanks for the script bud, this is wicked, being a maschine user for so many years i don't think this will take long to learn, those tutorial vids really help too :)

Just have a few basic function questions I've found since yesterday.

1) How do i set the punch in and out from push?

2) is there any way to tell what page of the drum and step sequencer I'm on? I've got lost a few times as you can page to bars that are not active but i don't see any feedback to know what page I'm on, am i missing something?

3) Is there anyway to limit the pages i can scroll to only the bars i've activated, like with maschine?

4) I'm trying to input drum beats with a fixed maximum velocity with the "Accent" function you mention in the video but it's not working, i'm still getting velocity based on how hard i press. How do i select fixed velocity as what you said in the vid isn't working for me for some reason?

5) Is there any zooming functions from push?

6) how do i make fine adjustments to volume and pan? Holding shift isn't doing it?

Many thanks,

Bobby

Have the above questions been addressed elsewhere already or something? If so please direct me to where.

Many thanks

No, but sometimes I have a life too ;-)

Will need some time to look into 4 and 6. The answer to the other questions is currently No. But some good ideas in there.

Thank you so much for this script moss!!!
I bought a push yesterday after long and careful consideration!
But your youtube movies convinced me! :tu: (and having a blast now and it will be a sleepless weekend! )

Well if it isnt enough what your already put in this script, regarding to the options/and work, i cant resist to try ask for one thing though. (and dont even know if its possible)

It would be nice to have a 64 pad drummachine. I put a picture to clarify with ableton situation.(but dont use live, so thats why the cautious question. )

Again!: i cant say it to much thank you so much!

Edit: you lose the sequencer part in that modes!

Thanks Moss, I thought I was doing something wrong, yeah if you could look into 4 & 6 that would be amazing. I can't get my frontier alpha track to work in a decent way so using push could be the answer. The other things I mention would be great in a future update but thanks a million for what you've done so far, it's greatly appreciated

It's working fine here. Can you give me a step-by-step explanation what you are doing (which buttons you press, etc.)?!

Works fine too. You can try to adjust the value more to your liking if you change:
Config.fractionMinValue = 0.5;
in Config.js, e.g. to 0.1.
