the display in the level compressor would be great as well so you can see wot you are doing to the sound also a uv meter would be great as well jo and also one more thing if the level meter could go side ways as well not just up and down and if you were able to add a sequence to the front panel as well and a Spectrogram thanks

The meters are the best thing ever!
Big thanks to Jo!!!
Some usage:
- you want to see your recording level when far away from your screen? Now you can
- i attach the compressor patch with input, output level meter plus the amount of gain reduction (ok, this is normally upside down and from 'max' level, but this is as good)

Uh, that's very sweet, Andreas!
...finally some more graphical clues come into the mix!

So to have a stable waveform in the scope for that key? But what about LFOs and polyphony and other waveform mangling things. Chance is really very low you'll have a stable waveform.Taron wrote:One thing about the Oscilloscope. I would add an Event in to it and allow a note to determine the display interval, if only as an option. I hope you know what I mean?!

About this oscilloscope, Jo is correct. It is exeedingly difficult to get a stable image. There are some that are reasonably stable (e.g. SignalDust) but most i know are not usable as real oscilloscopes. The Mulab one is good to get an idea of what you are hearing. For usual sound design this is OK.
I just have finished 3 more effects with added meters. See attached with the dynamiq EQ, the channel strip and the exiter updated.

That's why "option"! But there's almost only one perfect use for it and that is to supervise what happens to a waveform as it plays out.mutools wrote:So to have a stable waveform in the scope for that key? To randomly watch a track flicker through the scope is almost just entertainment, you know. I wouldn't know what that would help for. So, yeah, only about stable waveform and for a sound designer it is easy to set it up properly then.
(It's not exceedingly difficult to get a stable waveform, if you know what you want from the oscilloscope and you have the option to get to use the note as reference range!)

I already quickly tried it before my previous post and it was not a quicky, unfortunately, cause i like the idea. I'll not prioritize this, but neither trash the idea. Lets see lateron. I'll first work on other MU aspects, after the M6.5 release.Taron wrote:That's why "option"! Yep. This Oscilloscope is a great lightweight module to insert at key points in a complex signal chain to link ears+eyes. (I tried a few in Andreas' MB-Dyn-EQ to clarify how the bands and x-overs interact.)Taron wrote:there's almost only one perfect use for it and that is to supervise what happens to a waveform as it plays out

Yeah, I can imagine with the vst processing and all that it could well be not as easy as it is, when you create your own engine. In my own engines I've always just hooked an active display right into my waveform processing, independent from duty cycles, hehe...that's of course very easy.mutools wrote: I already quickly tried it before my previous post and it was not a quicky, unfortunately, cause i like the idea. I'm looking happily forward to the perfection of it, because it will be a super powerful asset, especially when you try to recreate natural sounds. This can give you a much more powerful access to understanding what to do technically/mathematically in order to achieve specific sound qualities.

There is a new MuLab 6.5.9 test version in http://www.mutools.com/forsythia
Changes since M6.5.8:
OSX: Simply replace the MuLab.app by the new version.
Windows: Simply replace the MuLab.exe + MuLab.ID files by the new versions.
How to upgrade from earlier versions eg M6.4: Make a full new install from the M6.5.7 package cfr the info on
http://www.mutools.com/info/docs/mulab/ ... ation.html
Then apply the new M6.5.8 app patch.
Changes since M6.5.8:
- Oscilloscope now also supports a 'sync mode': When the event input is connected the oscillator syncs to the incoming notes.
- Oscilloscope also has a slow refresh mode in case you want to have a good look at its display. Note that this is a temporary setting and not saved.
- Nicer background for the oscilloscope on the front panel.
- Oscilloscope: Mouse wheel zooms the time range in/out. (irrelevant for sync mode)
- Oscilloscope: Modular editor window now is resizable.
- On a front panel the Modulation Monitor can now be horizontal or vertical.
Value display is automatically removed in case of small sizes.
When the Value display is removed, the numeric level is shown in the tool tip. - When removing the keyboard from the Focused Module Panel, the scroll left/right buttons were not immediately removed. Fixed.
- You can now also drag-drop the supported module editors onto a front panel. Eg when an oscilloscope editor is open, click-drag-drop it onto a front panel.
- MuLab Free: Empty tracks or pure automation tracks are not counted as track anymore!
- This _test_ version expires in a month. A new version will be released before then.
OSX: Simply replace the MuLab.app by the new version.
Windows: Simply replace the MuLab.exe + MuLab.ID files by the new versions.
