Numanoid , no definetly not but you can always see when it comes to such things that BBFG# and sfd everytime show there hate about ... where are normal nothing to hate , but anyway your are right as this thread are "Bargain Center: discussion, gossip, etc."

Discussion about Copy Protection is definitely relevant to any Bargain, free or not. People have a right to know Digital Synsations requires the installation of the iLok License Manager so they can decide if it's worth downloading or not.

General arguments about Dongles do not belong here..........

Think I will have to pick up an eLicenser eventually, would be good to be able to use my Steinberg products on different computers.

Lucikly that is about half price of the iLok, "only" about $25-30

I don't have experience with iLok, but eLicenser seems to work very well without interfering with anything. It's not a bad feeling to be able to plug it in any Mac or PC and have your software licenses.

That only goes for desktops, because using it on notebooks is just impractical.

Did anybody get Zero-G Total Snare Drums (WAV, ACID, Kontakt, EXS24, HALion, Reason NN-XT, Apple AIFF)?

Any comments? I'm thinking about it. There's bound to be some good stuff in there but is it worth the asking price?

For people interested in the Digital Syn freebie from UVI: You dont need a dongle only a Ilok account. Just sayin'..

120 beats per minute, would on average mean 60 snare hits per minute.

So 10000 snare hits, would -> you could play 167 minutes, with different snare sounds!

You do need to use their PACE software though, which is the part that runs continuously in system resources.
Just remindin'.
BTW, I do have two editor programs that require PACE that I run separately on a mini-computer as it's only job, (parasite quarantine) - I just haven't plugged them in in a few months.
But I would love it if Stephen saw the light and switched over to eLicenser.

Dude, this is just FUD and you're being irrational about this.

Continuous doesn't necessarily mean anything: on my Mac there's 177 kernel extensions (kextstat),
and 277 services (launchctl list) running continuously in the background.

I have disabled many of them to optimize, but ilok/pace is not one of them simply because disabling it didn't have any
effect on performance, none whatsoever.

Where's your data?
