I've had that problem a lot when making my synths in SE 1.1. Suddenly the mono switch is global and doesn't save with the patch. I always thought it was my fault but I'm not sure anymore. It could be he had the same problem. Usually I think the default setting for everything is to save settings with patches. So if that is not the case for the Mono switch it's easy to miss it.

If the developer is reading, check if ignore PC is set to true for the Mono switch. You can find the setting under automation (right click on container). Also under properties of a container there is a similar switch. Set ignore PC to false. (PC means Patch change).

Also you might add a 1 pole hp, as the last module. If the last module is amp the put it before the amp. Then you will not get any DC. You can even set the pitch 0 I think and, it will still remove the DC.

Thanks Xenobioz, ill update the synth when i can... actually i cannot cause im using a very small screen on my PC and the resolution of it is not enough to render the VSTi.
If you remember SE 1.1 renders the window open in the screen not like SE 1.2 wich still is on a development stage... so i need to get a bigger screen so the VST fits on it...anyway a lot of thanks for the tips.

If people are having problems running any plugin be it effect or instrument try
http://www.image-line.com/documents/new ... st+modular

This is a cool little free app that you can save whole chains of instruments and effects and can get round certain DAw crashes.

Hope this helps

Ok, so I'll definitely participate this month, I have even some decent composition now. But it's really tough. I wasn't be able to tweak some decent psy bassline, so I decided to go for something different.

If only knob behaviour would be better it would be much easier. Also envelopes are not a strong point of this synth, but I can live with that. LFO modulations sounds to me very good. And I still not understand what's really going on in OSC section. Just guessing by ear.

Here is a tip for people that struggle with kicks.

You can create one using 2 or more notes and glide functionality. Place a short note on the highest octave and another on one of the low octaves but a tick later. Turn on mono and shape your kick with glide parameter.

I've made mine with a couple of other notes to simulate an exponential pitch curve.

Here is mine entry:

Should say, Mantra is totally weird and working with it was like 90% of chance and 90% of hard work in kick crafting.
But it's pretty stable -- no one single crash in Reaper x64 if bridged (PG-8X crashed every 10 minutes or so).

Upd:

Made in Reaper using

11 x Mantra Evo
11 x ReaEq
2 x A1StereoControl
2 x ReaComp
1 x ReaGate

+ ReaComp, TDR VOS SlickEq and LoudMax on Master

I was bored today, so I decided to give this synth another shot. Here's the result:

https://soundcloud.com/krisl/i-hate-this-synth

Made in Cubase 8.
7 Instances of Mantra Evo.
Mostly Cubase FX, 2x FerricTDS and 1x TAL Reverb 3.

As the title says: I hate this synth. Almost nothing works as expected, most buggy synth I've ever used.

Trying to make a kick in Mantra is admirable, but I think the key to this month is figuring out what it does, and making a track around that, rather than forcing what you want it to do.

Reminds me a bit of the point & click adventure games from the 90s. The puzzles were sometimes frustrating, but you eventually get absorbed into the story.

This is what some of us did in U-he podolski. I love the picture. Thanks for the tip :tu:

Getting a decent kick out of every synth is a challenge on its own :hihi:

Yes. that's it. You have to be very flexible and not trying to force that synth to do what you want.

And I can verify that its very stable. Since I was able to run it, it never crashed. Just knob behaviour is really bad and I wasn't be able to use pitch envelope. Otherwise I can squeeze pretty decent sounds out of it.

Well, since I'm all caught up with my work (actually a month and a half ahead of schedule) tomorrow I'm going to give this synth one more shot to see if I can keep it from blowing up my DAW. If I can, I'm going to come up with a track for this OSC.

Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead. LOL.
