Skins and colouring

I was just going through some old Muzys projects and kinda liked the different skin it had. Luxus. Which made me wonder if you have any plans to add User skinning at some point? You could use the User folder for our creations and any defaults for bits missing, or if an entire skin is missing.
Obviously this is of lesser importance than other stuff, but would be good addition and I bet there are a few people out there who would make some great skins to really make Mulab shine!
But for now, is there an easy way to copy colours from other windows/apps to use in Mulab? I like Luxus and want to copy some colours from it to add some colour to Mulab but it's laborious at present.
Thanks

No, i removed it last year, as no one was using it and it added complications for me. Well, there still are all coloring options, that's definitely a keeper.sl23 wrote:I was just going through some old Muzys projects and kinda liked the different skin it had. Luxus. MuLab's little color editors accept pasting strings in (A,)R,G,B format. Maybe that helps. But for now, is there an easy way to copy colours from other windows/apps to use in Mulab? I like Luxus and want to copy some colours from it to add some colour to Mulab but it's laborious at present.

I suppose adding a basic colour picker is a stretch too far? I'll try an app see how it goes...MuLab's little color editors accept pasting strings in (A,)R,G,B format. Maybe that helps.
Thanks again

Color picker already in there: Clicking on a color field opens a feature-rich color picker.

Sorry, no, I mean like one that allows picking from anything on screen not just within mulab.
It's a bit laboursome using picpick to choose colour then copy those colours into mulab manually. I understand if this is a bit much as its not often this would be used really.
But as I'm doing a luxus type look, could I request further colouring options be added at some point please as there's still a lot of grey left behind from mulab's default colouring.
Thanks
EDIT: Also, how about centralising things as a theme is there any way to do that? Apply Button Back/Fore colour globally, etc. Obviously some will want things as is, but maybe a global option to make things easier for others ?

Not planned, sorry.sl23 wrote:Sorry, no, I mean like one that allows picking from anything on screen not just within mulab.
The button colors are global, see MULAB menu -> Edit Colors.how about centralising things as a theme is there any way to do that? Apply Button Back/Fore colour globally, etc.

Picker: Ok thought it was probably going a bit far!
Global: No they aren't. Colours changed in 'App' don't affect the devices, and vice versa. To get a uniform skin/theme, I find my self keep switching between the left list of devices and 'App' to make sure I get the right colour for the right object. Would it be too much to make this a single page affair, So all colours are listed and can simply be dragged from one device to another?
Also, the MultiSampla doesn't have the same options as other devices. Maybe not all colours are needed, but knob/Top colour and text colour should be seperate as they are on other devices. Some devices still contain white text despite specifying a colour?!
Quite liking this new colour scheme I've made. Maybe this could be part of the preset sharing you're trying to set up?
Just a few little niggles that hopefully can be sorted in a future update/version.
Thanks

The devices can have their own colors, that's intended. Just like front panels can also have their own colors, if the front panel designer chooses so.sl23 wrote:Global: No they aren't. Colours changed in 'App' don't affect the devices, and vice versa.

PS: I agree there are some aspects wrt color preferences that can be further improved. That's on the wishlist but not a top prio atm. After the M6.5 release i'll first focus on other music related aspects. Feel free to post a screenshot of your color scheme here.

Yeah I appreciate that and it's good. But can be a pain to edit all these different colours and devices so was just trying to think of a way it could be made a bit easier.
What about devices having different parameters for colours though, as above? E.G. MuEcho 'header' stays aqua type colour no matter what, despite every other device either being adjustable or grey. Some devices text stays white.
EDIT: Ok, thanks and look forward to future updates. I wasn't trying to push this btw, just trying to improve things without regard for timeframe.

I copied-pasted my User>Settings>LooksSetup.Xml from 6.4 to 6.5 Test; perhaps we can share those Xmls via BlackWinny's site?
