Who supports a right click pop up tool bar in bitwig? Let's make our voices heard :)

Something like this just tagged on to the top of the existing pop up bars would work just fine. Sorry for my crappy photoshop work but you get the idea. Click and hold should bring up some hiden tools too, paint brush, drum stick, env shapes etc. Come on Bitwig, make us totally forgot Cubase and FL studio plus the rest of those linear daws period

That would work well in tandem with a pop up tool bar but i doubt they'd put that in any time soon.

Changing tools all the time is a slow workflow.
The most common tasks like draw/delete etc should be all done with just one tool.
What I can't fathom is why Bitwig's piano roll works the way it works now.... double click to add notes?? switch to erase tool to delete?? c'mon, this is insane.....
The piano roll is the weak spot of Bitwig atm imho, and I hope they will change that.....

Now, stuff like this pop up toolbar should be an option in preferences, for those that like to work slow....

I tend to work more with the mouse, rather than keystroke mapping, so the more I can do with assigning those macros to a button the better for me.

Having said that, I can see where each person has their own way of working and preferences of working that way, so I vote options to set these things up specific to the user.

Every DAW I use/have used has its own way of doing things. Some features have fit well with me, and not with other users, while conversely, some have not fit well but with others they are great.

BWS, IMO, is the most versatile but still lacking in some regards. Now, if we could all take the best features from each of those DAWS we have used and combine them into one DAW we would have the opportunity to stop complaining

I'm of the opinion that if a person finds a particular feature is needed to enhance their workflow/creativity, the devs should consider this and if possible, instantiate the featue. If it's not useful to another then that person can just ignore the feature and focus on the most important aspect of music creation.

With the pen tool, it is a single click to add a note and one click to delete a note. When adding a note, if you click and hold, you can set duration (left/right) and velocity (up/down) at the same time.

Not for me.
I think you just miss it because you're used to having it.
I'd rather be able to right-click the mouse to delete notes, instead of picking up a tool to delete.

I know about the pen tool features, but it was poorly designed and it's kinda useless for me.

Couldn't agree more. so + 1000. That being said I like that the number keys 1-5 switch tools, much faster and less clutter than right clicking to pick tools imo.

Couldn't agree more. so + 1000. That being said I like that the number keys 1-5 switch tools, much faster and less clutter than right clicking to pick tools imo.

We could have both like Studio One which has key strokes 1-8 assigned to the tools, this keeps both camps happy campers

I was thinking a bit of hardware like the Launch Control would be good for this. 8 buttons for 8 tools. I have mapped LauncherOverdub and ClipLauncherAutomation to two of the buttons and it beats hitting shift on Push or using the mouse every time. I don't like using the keyboard because it involves being careful.

Getting back on topic, a popup tool like in Cubase (it made editing REALLY fast) would be great!
