Bazille rocks!

After spending a lot of time with Hive, I immediately saw a similar fundamental architecture: 4 oscs, 2 LFOs, 4 envelopes. The similarity largely stops there, though. No way in Hell can Hive ever pull of the sounds Bazille can make, and vice versa. Hive is better for more typical sounds, but Bazille wins hands-down for soundscapes and cinematic effects. I'd say the same for hard dubstep basses, but really, if you want that kind of stuff, Zebra is a better choice.
The thing about modular synths and working with patch cables is that they're designed to be ENJOYED from a synthesis perspective. It's a different mentality. I'm not after a specific sound, just a general outline in mind. Sit down, grab some pizza and a beer, then _explore_ the possibilities, giving the middle finger to supersaws, wob wobs, subs, and everything else. Though my personal listening preferences are deep/dark dubstep and trap music, when it comes to sound design, I enjoy doing soundscapes, atmospheric pads, drums/percussion and cinematic sound effects the most. You are free to do your own thing, and your target audience expects that. Bazille's interface really encourages that kind of mindset and intellectual approach.
I grew up on digital synths with a clean interface, and am fairly new to working with patch cables. Hopefully my factory patches in Bazille haven't made that too obvious lol. Definitely gotten a lot better with it since then. Here's a small sample of 8 sounds from the upcoming Bazille set "Mindhacker's Notebook":

As I sell commercial soundsets, I'm always interested in ways to provide better content for my users. Synths like Bazille and Aalto are excellent choices for a good creative kick in the butt, and I love that. Every single time I sit down with it, Bazille teaches me new tricks/ideas that can be applied on other plugins. Synths with a mainstream design/workflow simply aren't even on the same level in accomplishing that.

I really appreciate it when sound designers put some extra efforts into preset naming and especially descriptions (and I hate presets named like "Bass 01, Bass 02"...)
Omnisphere factory, Joseph Hollo and Skippy Lehmkuhl come to mind, Mikael Adle does a very good job with his preset descriptions too.
