Yeah ... I decided not to bother.robotmonkey wrote:PA uses it's own C/R style CP that is similar to Waves only much much more annoying and unstable.

Why shouldn't it be?Harry_HH wrote:The settings refer more to a tremolo or that kind of effect. Is this really a compressor?Numanoid wrote:Looks a bit bare bone, is this all that's to it, no sub menus, or subpages?
- we have a "Density" knob, which is either a "drive into compression" or a "Threshold" knob. (since it's opto, I suggest the former)
- Level Trim is IMO definitely for the Output signal
- and Speed could be "Attack", since Opto Comps have a variable release, depending on the signal strength of the "Program material" (input)
How this will compare to it's "big brother", I don't know.
How this will compare to x-pedal? Well, I also don't know yet.
For guitar compression pre-amp I either use a simple compressor (VCA) or one of the many available pedal FX modules. In my case, I prefer an "Orange Squeezer" clone (simple, yet effective - also VCA with fixed attack, release, threshold). Post amp, sometimes something along the lines of an LAxA (Opto). But I do prefer compressing/taming of the guitars with virtual tape machines as of late.
I am not a guitar tech head, so please take this with a grain of salt.
Annoying, yes. Unstable, can't confirm that. At least not on my rig (Windows 7/Cubase combo)robotmonkey wrote:PA uses it's own C/R style CP that is similar to Waves only much much more annoying and unstable.

Some kind of glitch, code adds a second product to the basket, remove the duplicate, and price goes to 0VariKusBrainZ wrote:That bumps the retails price up to $98 and then discounts to $39.20

No it isn't. I never had any instability. Your experience maybe different but it is not like waves at all. The only similarity is both can authorized to a usb drive.robotmonkey wrote:PA uses it's own C/R style CP that is similar to Waves only much much more annoying and unstable.
With PA you can't move license back to cloud like Wave does, instead you get 3 co-current activations with option to de-authorize yourself.
