Let me answer the previous two posts with one response. It may be helpful to understand the specific thing I was trying to accomplish, which was to duplicate some capabilities of FabFilter's filter effect Volcano.

One vey cool capability in Volcano is that stereo filters have a Pan control. What this does is to reduce the cutoff in the direction being panned toward, and to correspondingly raise cutoff in the other channel. There are numerous presets in Volcano that use this to great effect (no pun intended).

But the panning effect on filter cutoff is a secondary "seasoning" - something you'd throw on (modulation of panning, that is) after setting the initial cutoff and maybe modulating that with a XLFO. It was this I was trying to accomplish with MXXX and could find no way to do it - not even by playing games with esoteric chains of modulators controlling range settings of other modulators. Maybe there is a way to do it and I just haven't been smart enough to figure it out - sadly, that has been known to happen. :D

Did you try to write info about the MP (I just know realize that MP can be short for multiparameter AND Meldaproduction, hehe ... I mean multiparameter in this case) ? ... well except info for modulators, indeed. I created patches in which MPs control modulators and the MPs got the info text for better understanding. Again: just some random thoughts from me.
I noticed that one could enter information about the MPs, but where does the user of your preset see this? You may be onto something important here, but I haven't fully figured it out. I shall look at this more deeply. Thanks for the suggestion.

I asked the same question once, hehe. The information you can type in are the same as the standard Melda-Infotexts you can get via F1 or the little questionmark symbol on the group names. Just stay over your own set multiparameter and press F1.

Help messages for multiparameters: Yes, these should be available as classic F1 or via "?" buttons, but I'm not sure if in current release. Anyway an update is almost ready and brings quite some improvements in the easy screen GUI of MXXX, so please just wait a few days...

Filter pan: Sounds like you just need LR->MS then put one filter in each path (one for M and one for S) and us MS->LR to mix it back. (There is a sample for this). Then you just need to control the filters in each somehow, there's plenty of ways to do that, let me know if you'd need help ;).

Actually here it already works well now: v9.03 in FL Studio 12 64 bit.

No, it has nothing to do with mid/side processing. I initially got close to the result I wanted by using LR to L&R (and back again) and using parallel filters for L and R with separately controlled cutoffs.

But the full realization of the FF Volcano effect still required more than one modulator on the same target. I don't want to make too big a deal about this, since this was the only time I got remotely close to needing this sort of capability. But to do what I described (duplicating the Volcano filter behavior) really does seem to require multiple modulators on a single target.

Damn, of course I meant LR <-> L&R and back :o :D. I think the best way to simulate it would be using multiparameter Banks mode - just take one multiparameter (name it Pan for instance), I'd guess use 4 banks and set the filters somehow. Then just use a modulator to drive it. Just brainstorming :).

I've been trying out MXXX as a way of provide a set of Macro controls for a chain of FX modules - I assigned a single control to each of the available Multiparameters.

In Easy display mode, all those big knobs look quite intimidating (and the GUI takes up a lot of screen space (as in the upper screenshot). As a suggestion - how about using the standard-sized knobs instead? (as in the lower screenshot?)

It is still clear to read / adjust and much less screen occupancy.

This might always be used or a user-selectable option, or used if > (say) 8 Multiparameters are active.

------------------------------------
In fact, with this display mode I would also be tempted to bump the number of available Multiparameters up to 32:

(yep, it's a customised Channel Strip!)

Have you disabled 'big control' from the multiparameter settings:

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

D'oh! - "I'll get my coat". I thought that that just made the control invisible on the Easy panel. Perhaps I should have read the help

(But I'd still like 32 Multiparameters!

-------------------
Let me throw in this that I have just discovered: If you type in some text in the [Edit information about the multiparameter] pop-up window, it will be displayed when you click the [?] button for that group on the Easy display.

And, the virtual typing keyboard now expands to give us some more characters.

I am continually astounded about the features tucked away in these plug-ins :tu: :)

Let me try this one, then:

Add the Curve graph to the Saturator module (as in MLimiter):

Hehe very well, I'm glad it got solved ;). Anyway I'm afraid no more multiparameters - backward compatibility for automation and also I think it would be an overkill, take too much space etc...
About the Saturator module - it's not there simply because it didn't fit (one would need to use the scroller) and I decided to remove it simply because it is quite useless actually - it doesn't provide much useful information really nore can you edit anything in it...

Pretty please ;)

Could we have the analyzer (& sonogram etc?) in the MXXX Crossover module?

Damn I thought you'd come up with that :D. I was so trying to make my life easier :D. But you are so pretty pleasing :D...
