Ableton Live 9.2 is out now. This free update brings improvements and additions to both Live and Push and is available for immediate download for all owners of Live 9. Here’s what’s new in detail:

Latency compensation
Live 9.2 introduces a number of latency-related improvements. Sets that contain Max for Live devices or third-party plug-ins now have lower latency and automation is now fully latency compensated.

Improved warping, new Tuner, Max 7 and more
Live 9.2 brings further refinements to Live’s audio warping engine. Transients are punchier in Complex and Complex Pro modes, downbeat detection has been improved and warping is now even more accurate. The new Warp Selection command lets you warp a selected portion of a sample to a precise bar length. Along with further under-the-hood improvements, Live 9.2 comes with a handy new Tuner device while Max for Live now includes Max 7, the latest, most powerful version of Max.

64 pad mode for Push users
Live 9.2 introduces the ability to use all 64 Push pads to play drums and quickly flip back to 16 pads for step sequencing.

Further Push refinements
Live 9.2 also brings improved aftertouch implementation to Push’s pads and the addition of aftertouch to many of Live’s core library sounds. In addition, Push’s touchstrip can now be used for modulation wheel control as well for pitch bend.

Live 9.2 is available for download for all owners of Live 9.

Might give it a week or so just to see if any bugs surface that need to be ironed out, but this is good news. I've been keeping an eye on it once a week or so, but missed this on their site.
Sweet child in time...

Just tried it on a project I am currently working on and I notice audio starts to crackle much sooner than the previous versions, CPU is at 45% :?

Live 9.2 was at about Beta revision 13 before it was issued and has been beta tested for about 6 months (open Beat) so I would be surprised if any major bugs have slipped through....
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Does it compensate for buffer size when recording audio with monitoring on?

Up till 9.1, if you recorded a track with monitoring on, your entire recording was offset by the buffer size.

Also cool that M4L is upgraded to 7.03 for free.

I think its new that the default M4L is Max7, although 7 has worked for a while. The current version of Max7 is 7.04, though.

Any chance that this is using Reaktor? I've heard reports during the beta that some were having cpu issues with 9.2 and Reaktor.

For PDC, in my tests, this has been fixed, except for midi-clock to effects (ie, a trancegate placed after a plugin that introduces latency, will not play in sync - but automation will)

No, I'm not using Reaktor. ASIO buffer is at 512 samples, crackles go away when I switch to 1024.

Actually on the Live site it says 7.03 but the download turns out to be 7.04.

What are the benefits of the upgrade for M4L users, I believe it comes with some new M4L devices?

There is also new Tuner effect. However, I tried it out and it generates no output at all for complex FX and textures. Works only for pure tones, which doesn't save much work.

If you're just using prebuilt stuff, its probably not that obvious a deal, but for people building M4L stuff, there's quite a lot of useful new functionality that will undoubtedly wind up in M4L devices now that 7 is 'standard'. There's some pitch and time shifting stuff that's new, for example, plus a 'prebuilt' modular audio collection called BEAP.

The editor is a bit different too.

(Interestingly Max7 also added the ability for Max to load M4L patches.)

I'm using the 9.2 beta one, is very stable and much better than previous versions especially if you use vst plugins and do some live realtime audio processing. No crackles here, about same CPU usage on 9.1.9 and 9.2beta, I'm on Windows 8.1.
I'm downloading the official 9.2 right now.
Than'k you Ableton team!

Hmm, sorry to hear that. Haven't experienced this myself. Maybe contact their support?

Max is crashing Live on load for me (OS X 10.8.5).

I haven't tried any previous version of Max 7, but the standalone runs fine. However, it (7.0.4) crashes both 9.2 and 9.1.6.
