Thanks !

New MuLab 6.5.27 release candidate version in http://www.mutools.com/forsythia

Latest changes:
  • New "Delete Unused Racks" function. Via right-click the [+] rack button.
  • OSX: The top bar of VST editors had an unintended white border. Fixed.
How to upgrade from MuLab 6.5.x:
OSX: Simply replace the MuLab.app by the new version.
Windows: Simply replace the MuLab.exe + MuLab.ID files by the new versions.

How to upgrade from earlier versions eg M6.4: Make a full new install from the M6.5.7 package cfr the info on
http://www.mutools.com/info/docs/mulab/ ... ation.html
Then apply this latest app patch.

You mean 6.5.27?

Great thanks Jo

Yes, corrected it, thx.

Info note: It may be a bit surprising to see this new "Delete Unused Racks" function just before release. Things is that i really wanted to fix that "vst editor white border" issue in MuLab for OSX. So that lead to M6.5.27 anyway. And i wanted to avoid an 'empty' sub-release for MuLab for Windows. So i looked at the wishlist and picked one out which was not too much work but requested multiple times. That's the little background story.

The "Delete Unused Racks" function works as follows: A rack is considered as used if it's used as a track rack or if it's downstream a track rack. Any other racks are considered as unused and will be deleted after confirmation.

This link is still broken in your message - cut-n-paste problem with forum link lossy compression.

Oh, and is it worth doing a new "full release" package for the latest RC, rather than 6.5.7 plus patch?

Yes complete MuLab 6.5 release packages will be available upon release.

You can do this today.
Take two modulation mapper modules, drag each Amplitude parameter into one Meta Parameter and scale one 0..100 and the other 100..0. When one opens, the other closes.
And use the cuves in these mod mappers :)

having your clear insight, able help, here, is one of the most wonderful things, besides the program.

about wishes, will shut my mouth before really knowing all the whole program (it is my most sincerely serious promise).

after the night long experiment with the possibilities of the existing modules, came to the same solution as the one in your sketch.

one question still exists there, haunting me, would you consider the inclusion of the mentioned choice of the spline curve as useful?

many thanks for everything, all the best...

One of my favorite wishes in regards to modulation modules is a polysynth integrated modulation delay module. It would allow for very complex ensemble effects, for example for choirs or string sections.

Another feature for modulation that would be most excellent was a kind of "sample & hold" random generator that only spits out a new random number on note-on, of course also inside the polysynth mux.
(Only inside the polysynth mux can a module be used polyphonic, in case you wonder why I keep suggesting that.)

Those two features, currently impossible to simulate, would add another dimension to the sound design.
One of my other favorites is the custom curve for the modulation mapper (universally, I mean also at the connections). This could be possible one of the most powerful additions.

would this requested curve be something similar to the spline curve described couple of posts before?

-----snip-----8<-----snip-----
within that, or everywhere where selection is possible, the inclusion of one spline kind curve in the list of choices (with vertically movable start, end, points, the tangent length, angle, values to be set, possibly with the addition of plus one, in both direction, movable central point, with adjustable tangent length, angle, values, making the three points curve).
-----snip-----8<-----snip-----

would it be flexible enough?

the polysynth stuff, inside, oustside, of it, is simply over my head yet, but surely will arrive to these levels too (one day, one night, some time).

sorry,
for sample hold or random value generator, would the wobble generator plus something that takes note on, off, signals into account then generates or gates the value, usable?
being faster then needed, again...

all the best...

Already possible, see the Note To Modulation Converter module, it has a random out.

AHhh...me stupid! :dog: ...SWEET! Somehow I keep spacing out on that one. I have the feeling this is not the first time you tell me that.
Well...2 for 3 requests then, haha...(as in: one less!)

Post

One more request:
- (mild) Highlight for the entire lane of a currently active track.

I'm currently making this almost epic song, haha, with a lot of tracks. I notice that it gets tough to figure out the lane your on, if too many have to show and you're all the way on the right side for some tasks. A "simple" highlight of the currently selected lane would help a great deal!

Ok, one more, but it's an old one, but it means a lot to me right now:
At least one more button(key) on the virtual keyboard. It's hideous not to be able to play a whole octave with the keys. Yes, sure, I could handpick the notes to see, if I don't need all notes for the harmony I'm on, but why? I'm just begging for one single key more. :hail:

(Yes, sure, it's not like I'm asking for any number of keys based on what you enter as custom keys, which is something I personally would most certainly do, as I've done already in my own little thingy and it works beautifully, but if only I can play from tonic to tonic without having to switch octaves, I'll be less traumatized by my lack of keyboard right now!) :(
