I've got a very good emulation of the fretless bass almost ready.
The trumpets are hard to emulate, but Im getting as near as you can (lots and lots of equalization, filtering, distortion, stereo separation and manually tweaked compression). synth1 is very good, but if you want convincing results you have to use external FX Even if you are not emulating instruments it really helps.
Bank is almost ready.

Hi all.
Had to install windows 10, and my computer was not able to handle very well the new windows (its old). So... I installed linux and destroyed everything by accident. But I had a copy... so.
Well now i use wine in linux and FLstudio 12 is working flawlessly, even 64 bits version!.
So I was able to reload all the patches in linux.
Just So you know, the new bank will be available very soon and will try to upload as soon as possible.

Hi all.
I had a hard disk crash and loosed everything, including synth1 patches but... I restarted
Not everything will be emulation, of course.
So starting from a clean point, this is what I have at the moment, Acoustic guitar patches, using an instance of synth1 for every string, still have to add a bit of vibrato, long and short notes and slurs. I think it doesnt sound bad for synth1 (oatmeal has better sound, to be sincere). hope you like it, 7 instances of synth 1, work in progress:

Hey whats up!
Tried to emulate some violin/violas. This time using reference from videogame soundtracks (by ear).
Legato, using various patches avoiding the machinegun effect. Only reverb in this demo no eq. I think its passable, synth1 is a beast and everyday I discover something new.
Sorry for not updating the bank, Im a 3d modeller and my work takes all my time. I will try to finish it soon.

Will try to upload bank this afternoon. I have quite some patches done, this time I wil save everything ( I dont want to loose work anymore).
Emulating legato for the trumpets, at the moment I have about three different harmonics that helps with solos. Here tried to emulate legato, synth1 legato is good if you control polyphony. Using various instances.
Violins in progress. Bye!
(edit. 3 instances harmonics version. there are 4 different harmonics and adsr for each type of trumpet on the bank, soundfont style).

Now there are 4 trumpet harmonics... to have more variety. Violins is difficult, but doable (in progress).
I would like to release this bank as a GM bank (free as always) as its an excellent synthesis exercise and compare the results with soundfont banks I'm sure the end result would be pretty similar except Im not doing the low registers.
Im using youtube as a guide for all the orquestral instruments here. No spectral analysis, as I know synth1 is not made for this kind of thing (more of a proper FM synth like sytrus or FM8 or a PM synth). Anyway synth1 is more versatile than I first thought.

Just had a bit of time to make more patches. Still have to organize it a bit because I have too many harmonics with same patches.
I took two incredible songs from supermetroid, and tweaked a bit, so I could test my deepstrings, Ahh voices, pizzis and flutes. They sound very good I think. Hope you like it.
The bank is almost ready. If there is an interest on it I could release it as a GM bank if You like it.

Still doing more emulation for fun. Does anyone know about legato transitions using a synth? I think it can be done, but not with normal Glide/legato mode.
I started learning seriously about automation in fl studio, after 12 years of use you know, I was always scared of automation and is freaking easy to do. XD surprising isnt it?
This is a test of "temple of doom" trumpets. I used some real references from samplemodeling and stuff and it doesnt sound bad for being a synth, only reverbs used. But its done in a multisample style using 3 different patches at random with different harmonics and some filtering. They only thing it lacks at the moment is dynamics as I didnt have time to automate everything, but you should hear really soft and fast attacks with automation (when its done I will post).
Well hope you like it, I will upload a preview soon of the patches so those who like orquestral stuff may find some usefulness on them (there a violins, strings, etc). Cheers.
