Is there any approximate date of the availability and thereby the introductory price of MXXX? I need to start saving up for it! - if it goes for the 399 that is... :D

Post

Hehe not sure really, we can set the price any time, but it's kind of necessary to think about the alternative models as well... damn, complex it is... :D

You can't give an approximate timeframe? Is it tomorrow or in one year?

C'mon Squarer, give the man a break.

This decision involves many things, and so far Vojtech is being evolutive and even inclusive in the way he is considering them.
For once, it affects the Melda ecosystem and how closer, modular, open (or else is finally invented), it allows the business model to be and thus, impacts the future access to single or combinations of plugins from us customers. Plus the retribution and flux possibilities trailing all that.
Don't forget this place is a shaky dimension where channels also evolve and V. likes to be inventive among what's available. All this is something we don't want to be curtailing, do we?
Sure we all appreciate comments on differing views or ideas, as opposed to rushing deadlines/prices at this point. (I am actually amazed as how calmly V is taking this, contrasting it with the speed of soft changes once they are singled)

I don't think there's any harm in asking and I respect if Vojtech cannot say more about it.
The name is Soarer not Squarer :)

you could change the demo and licencing mode. rather than the MXXX plugin intermittently producing noise. It should be fully working (with no noise) and when an FX is loaded into the matrix, if the customer has the licence for it then fine, but if they don't then the FX itself will produce the noise limitation.

That way there is only one version of MXXX which works well for cross compatability with presets.

+1 :tu:

Actually that would be even worse - people wouldn't know something is off, one would need to actually detect and produce the noise... Anyway folks, please let it go for now, I need some time to think about it :D

Your idea explained a few posts back:
KTlin wrote: I suggested Vojtech some time ago a strategy similar to IK Multimedia's AmpliTube Custom Shop and T-Racks Custom Shop, where you get the main plugin (MXXX in this case) for free (or for something like $50 or so) and then buy only the modules you really need/want (and/or use the modules you've already bought), when you can afford them. In my opinion this is the perfect strategy, a win-win situation for everybody.
This model needs to conform and be coherent with Vojtech valuations about MXXX. If I understand them nearly well, then it is regularly priced close to EUR900 (similar to total Bundle) and then while at short+instant sale, it -max- could reach to EUR399.

A way to conciliate this ground payment with the other model of "partitioning" the sale price into three payments, corresponding each to the addition of a level of functioning to the MXXX, B-A-S-E:
Nspace wrote:Well, If the -reduced- suggested price MSRP is nearing 399 EUR
I'd would calculate at least, 133 EUR for each of three módules (MXa, MXb & MXc, to form MXXX).
And then possibly at each Module's launch, do a Special introductory price, Melda style...
So the difference between your proposition and mine is that you are valuing a bit low (50 EUR or so), MXXX's base building block (into which -we- actual or future Melda customers would install our already bought licensees to awake the potential constituent plugins/functions).
Whereas according to Vojtech there should be, at least, a base payment (from EUR 900 regular to sale EUR399 which could be equated to the regular price for MXXX base). Lastly, my take could be interpreted as parceling this basic down pay into 3 accessible instances.
Placing together these somewhat differing visions, one may see that the point where the three would get be closer, it is at the mentioned introductory price.
///Therefore, following MDrumEnhancer sales model, where it costing regularly EUR145, can be had for EUR45 at a short launch lapse.
Applying similar rule, either each module (MXXX parcel EUR133) could cost near to EUR40 if the base is to be fragmented. or alternatively EUR120 as a MXXX total introductory price, devoid from the plugin licenses, (calculated mirroring MDrumEnhancer price model, from its EUR399 regular base price). Obviously MXXX skeleton to which, customers would need to add Melda licensees in order to expand its features.

*All the above assumes in technical terms or in its usage MXXX could solve that:
