Sounds kinda interesting but only two dynamic layers for the staccatos seems kinda weak.
Unless they have done some scripting magic. I am sceptical though.

That's true, I hadn't spotted that. On the other hand I do have some amazingly good instruments using just two dynamic layers, it can be surprising. And it has some artics which are fairly unusual but potentially useful.

Well, the first hand reports will be interesting. Soundiron are a very good company, so I'm not as sceptical as you perhaps. That 2nd demo on the NI website, The Chase, is exceptional and definitely puts it into the class of serious contenders. The problem is so many are in my position at this point, where we're already spoilt for choice. There was another brass library released yesterday too - http://impactsoundworks.com/products/or ... ing-brass/ . Very good pricing there and the ability to buy individual instruments and sections is a great idea. Demo wise its certainly good if not quite as good as Soundiron imo.

Have to agree, their Session Strings Pro is really lacking and a disappointment. Session Horns Pro on the other hand is well-done. It takes work but I have not found another library as convincing without having an actual recorded phrase. I would still like to see a video walkthrough the likes of Andrew from Impact Soundworks so you get to hear and see a good amount of the naked instruments and articulations. I have seen the short videos from Soundiron and listened to the demos, but I would want to know completely what I'm getting into for $499 and 70GB hard drive space. I assume they will do that shortly.

I have been pretty happy with my Soundiron and NI purchases as well. That demo sounds really good indeed and the artics/ expressions would add something to my toolbox but i don't really desperately need it.
And bravura looks nice too but they don't mention any dynamic layers.
Gonna scan through any walkthroughs and demos anyways, as i ended up buying samples i didn't need often enough.

I did see the articulations list and the fact that they brought in Soundiron carries a lot of weight. When it hits the $300 and above range I like to see a 20 - 30 minute walkthrough so I can see and hear the naked instruments with dynamics and a decent amount of articulations without the distraction of a full blown symphonic audio demo. Like many others, I already have brass libraries (EWQL Platinum) but they all bring something different. The tubas sound pretty robust in this library.

The pricing of this library makes me think they're going to raise the price of the next KU upgrade.

But if the prices stay the same, I'd already upgrade to K11U. At half price, anyway.

Unfortunately, that deal is probably about 2 years away.

I'm talking about K11U already and I've barely dived into the new goodies in K10U.

Just got an email from NI saying the Symphony Series will not be included in any Komplete. Must say I'm disappointed but not entirely surprised. They are offering a crossgrade though which is better than nothing i guess.

I'm asking on the NI forums for clarification, the wording allows wriggle room if they want to wriggle by in the future saying that it only applied to existing versions of Komplete.

Most likely I'll imagine there will be one more version, a "+ Symphonic" option.

Although, if crossgrades are further reduced next year for Summer of Sound they could be very affordable. And perhaps when the accompanying strings and woods libraries are released we'll see some sort of symphonic series bundle.

Funny how an NI announcement actually leads to more speculation than before.
