It's not caused by MuLab. It doesn't affect only MuLab. MuLab cannot resolve the issue for all programs. Having the OS provide a means of attaching a process space of the other bittage that could be used by any program would save all software developers on the OS duplicated wasted effort. The whole reason jBridge exists is to avoid this wastage and solve the problem once -- for the VST world, at least.runaudio wrote:mulab should have it builded in
The same issue existed when 32bit software was introduced - old 16bit software could be run but the two could not interact. It was a much more limited issue: less complex systems used by far, far fewer people. One of the main problems is 32bit software has been around long enough there is dead-ware, software with no support and absentee developers, so getting it upgraded to 64bit is a non-starter. That was also less of an issue with 16bit to 32bit. None of that makes supporting it MuLab's responsibility.
