Have to say that I do appreciate the way Simon Bangs from InMusic runs support. He's one of the most efficient support managers I ever had to contact.
Agree and i want to add that you cannot even sell the Sonivox cra.. ahem.. instruments.
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

The Single Pro Series Plugin for 49$ instead of 129$
Have anyone tried these - and if so do you like them?
Furthermore, I saw a nasty comment on gearslutz claiming that this is "just" a revamped package of Nomad Factory - Cosmos for example. Is this rubbish or? (I know that they are made in corporation with NF).

The P&M Pro series are programmed by someone other than Nomad Factory (whose work is very well respected in the community). I personally like the Pro Series plugins a lot. It would of course be a good idea for you to demo them to see if you like them as well........ :)

Ok thanks for the info and your opinion. I must admit I took myself the freedom to get opinions before demoing just to get a feeling of it was a total waste of time to test. Are you sure that it's not programmed by Nomad Factory? In the right lower corner of the plugins it says "Powered by Nomad Factory".

AFAIK they actually ARE programmed by NF (by bernie himself, to be precise) ;) anyway, tried the demos and think they sound pretty good - only thing against them in my case is that they don't deliver (enough) new functions, which i haven't had already in various other plugins ;)

Does Iris 2 every go on sale?
https://www.izotope.com/iris
What is the current lowest price for it and
what was the lowest price ever sold for
at KVR or eBay, Amazon etc?
I would love to have this great VSTi if
I can get it at a low price.

Perhaps best to wait for Iris 3 if the
wait is not too long?

Your timing is poor, unfortunately. Iris 2 had a month-long or more sale in May, I think. Crossgrades were available for anyone who owned an Izotope product and that price was around $125.

Iris 2 is reasonably new so I doubt Iris 3 is on the horizon yet.

Bad timing! Too bad!
Maybe wait for a Black Friday sale.

Programmed FOR Nomad Factory.....not BY.......
Sim.Sky wrote:AFAIK they actually ARE programmed by NF (by bernie himself, to be precise) ;)
That is incorrect. They are programmed by a third party. If that third party wanted it to be known then they would post it publicly. It's not my place to say........

Anyway it doesn't really matter who wrote the code. In my opinion they are awesome plugins and deserving of being demoed.

I just wanted to dispel the nasty rumor that they are re-badged Nomad Factory plugins........

all right, since i don't know exactly, i want to believe you ;) however, it would just make no sense to me - "powered by nomad factory", but nomad factory weren't involved in this - why then put their name on the plugins any way? if it's because some of the code/interfaces was provided by nf then this might be one of the most illogical marketing steps i've seen in a while, because it would be like a huge poster with "rip-off - no new product" on it, would'n't it? (over-emphasized spoken, of course):help: and then again, which role does plug & mix itself play here?? i mean, programmed for plug & mix would be totally understandable, but...

Yep. And many if those plugins are basically NF old ones with new GUI. But many of them are still very good. Overall I like P&M a lot.

So they are not...hmm thanks Teksonik. Why not just call it "Noname" like the do for computer hardware stuff that no developer want's it's name on?

Post

Maybe NF developed the framework for all of them... some with "guest" DSP, etc.

I got the P&M non-pro bundle on the last $50(-ish?) deal, and am happy enough with them for that... also have quite a few NF (including BBE) bought cheap going all the way back to audioMIDI no-brainers.

Passing on PM pro for now, unless the particular genius is revealed.

I'm not sure why the author wants to remain anonymous but it's certainly not from shame. Most likely some sort of formal agreement.

All I know is that the E-Max EQ and Tube Exciter P&M Pro plugins have earned a permanent place in my default guitar signal chain. :tu:
