Hi Melda,

What do think about creating a control room plug like the one in cubase?
Only cubase has this functionality so I think it would sell very well, I'd be your first customer

Hi,

what do you mean by that? The control room in Cubase is part of the host, it is not a plugin and cannot be done as a plugin, it has access to all tracks etc. (if that's what you are asking for)

Thanks for replying :tu:
I mean something simple that can host plugs and see asio ins and outs from within the plugin itself. Also it would need to have its own midi learn or Mackie hui compatibility so it can be used as a software control room for switching between monitors and inputs with a control surface. It could be used on the master buss of all daws other then cubase of course, which is thousands of non cubase users.

As yet no daw offers this but cubase so the end user has to buy expensive hardware to switch between monitors and inputs from an iPod or web browser for example.

I use bitwig studio mostly but cubase runs in the background with my 2nd frontier alpha track control surface setup to switch between 6 different monitors. I know that sounds a lot but I run a mono pa, sonodyne near fields with a sub, then a pair or Yamaha
hs80m, a sony hifi for consumer stereo feedback, headphone amp for my hd600, lastly some crap pc monitors. I can flick between them all with the controller using the routing in cubase control room. Just one out from bitwig over adat/spdif in cubase thane cubase control rooms sends the audio to my hardware outs I have my monitors set up on, works we'll but cubase is expensive for people wanting to do what I'm doing running just 2 pairs of mains and some headphones.

It would be great to have this run as a plugin in bitwig, it doesn't need to do cue sends or see tracks, just asio ins and outs with midi and obviously
A big volume knob purely for switching monitors without a hardware price tag.

Hope that makes sense now?

Cheers, love you plugs and I think you're the dev to bring this to market

HI Bobby,

thank you for the info, I understand, but I'm afraid it's still impossible (well it might be hacked, but actually think it might not). Simply put everything hardware related is the host's job, signal processing is plugin's job. If you are using Bitwig, I'd say ask them about it. I'm afraid I can hardly help you here.

Fair enough, thanks for listening anyways :tu:

What about a spatial placement plugin similar to Virtual Sound Stage? As far as I know, MReverb already has the basic functionality down.
