Pin-able, left or right side, racks might be a really nice feature, in this case. I've not much interest in the area although I do use (t)rack groups in Reaper and find them handy. In addition to being able to group and organise racks, saying "I want to always have these leftmost and these rightmost despite what new racks I create" would probably be a nice step to take.bibz1st wrote:For the record, I am good with the master rack being on the left but....
This seems like a good ideasl23 wrote:Re: Master Rack -
other racks should scroll when too many to fit, but don't scroll Master keep it shown. Just like when the browser is docked, it doesn't scroll with the composition it stays there and the composition scrolls. So when scrolling racks, leave the Master shown.

Yeah that sounds good. I personally would only want the Master on the Right, but pinnable is a possible solution.

The first I chose was time-stretching, especially for remix stems. I would especially enjoy it if I could snap to a given tempo for certain stems.
The other option I opted for was freezing, since my projects are now expanding to 50 - 60 tracks at a time! It's especially taking a toll on my laptop, where sometimes just opening a project already overloads the CPU.
I think this would be beneficial for huge projects to have.
Can't wait for M7!

So pleased that OSX is on the list! My first choice is to modernise MuLab for OSX to the same level of functionality as for Windows (64 bit, etc).
My second choice is the Loop Composer, perhaps designed like Ultraloop, a Reaktor ensemble by Twisted Tools, which is based on "comping" taken to the extreme. It's 'track' approach to loops may fit the MuLab style better than the 'two views' of Ableton:
At one time, you see eight tracks of samples (eg. percussion, synths, vocals in the same key), and select up to 128 portions of the samples at once in real time to create a song.
You can quickly load new groups of tracks with associated effects "Racks," which are the boxes in the lower half of this image.
Here is the review by GW Childs that I sampled from:
http://www.askaudiomag.com/articles/exc ... -ultraloop
However, Ultraloop is based entirely on samples. I think a MuLab loop composer could mix samples and MuClips. I think a tool like this will fit MuLab and provide 'modular freedom' to compose with sounds.

Technically speaking it's already possible to a certain degree with help of several modules: Mono Echo, Allpass, Modular Feedback Delay. I'm using them to create for example shimmer or some weirdly modulated reverbs and I've tried building some plucked and woodwind a while ago: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 9&t=401836 also there's a thread on analog synths emulation http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 9&t=404879NadirToZenith wrote:are there later plans to include some level of physical modelling implementation, in, for example, v8.x.x, v9.x.x?

hello, dwsel,
just thought about the basic elements, membrane, string, tube, etc. similarly to the things available in tassman.
all the best...
have read the thread, downloaded your solution, great work.dwsel wrote:it's already possible to a certain degree

Going back to the Master rack thing, how about having it in its own floating window separate from the rest of the racks, just a thought.
Or even put the master where the keyboard is, top right of screen, then it could always show the level meter sideways and when hover mouse over it, it drops down to reveal fx slots.

Here's another thing that's quite important that could improve in ML7: time signatures!

Then again thinking about this, these shouldn't be options in some vote. I mean, it's version 7 - about time you stopped prevaricating about Mac and either go the whole way or forget it.aMUSEd wrote:Mux modular and 64 bit for Mac definitely - also AU support.

They are relevant poll options because they take R&D time. And this poll will be one of the input factors for deciding the priorities for the M7 R&D.aMUSEd wrote:Then again thinking about this, these shouldn't be options in some vote.aMUSEd wrote:Mux modular and 64 bit for Mac definitely - also AU support.
I agree that it's time to take essential decission about the mac version.I mean, it's version 7 - about time you stopped prevaricating about Mac and either go the whole way or forget it.

Note that this poll is not a 'binding contract' to implement the wished features in exact top down order. There are other factors that will also influence the M7 work scheme. But of course this poll will definitely be an important factor. It's already very interesting to see certain emphases and i will definitely take that into account!

hello, Jo,

there are, at the present, already five votes for the 64 bit version, mine included.

Sorry for the confusion. No, i think abandonning the mac platform would be a wrong choice. And keeping it as is is not ok either. So decission tends to go the other way: Invest time and money to upgrade the mac version. Maybe the Windows users will not like it that precious r&d resources would go to upgrade the mac version but i'm quite sure that supporting the mac platform will also (indirectly) have benefits for the Windows version, for example because MuLab will be taken more serious which hopefully results in more resources for MuLab and MUX on all platforms.NadirToZenith wrote:hello, Jo,
