There is a mistake in my description. It should be firstly a normalizer for the the integrated value and only give a warning, if there is a true peak above -1db, but not correct it. Nice would be to a timecode, where these problems are.

Ok, makes more sense. But still there is the LU and LRU. To get both, you would need a compressor for example.

The LRA is a value we only like to see, nothing which should be correct automatically by the plugin. It would be nice to see it, but not a must have.

140.00 excl. VAT too pricey for you?Svama wrote:Grimm LevelNorm
Geee... 140€ for a level normalizer, that doesn't seem to do much magic and doesn't need years of R&D to develop
I'm a little bit shocked. Can such a price be totally reasonable?

But "expensive" is equal to "good quality"! Or am I wrong? A plugin MUST be unbelievable good, when its price is exaggerated!
System: Win 10 64 bit / i9 9900K (8x 3.6 GHz) / 16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM / 1TB M.2 SSD + 2x 500 GB SSD / RME Babyface / Reaper

I don't have an issue to pay a good price, if I have the feeling it's reasonable. I paid a lot for e.g. iZotope RX and it's worth every penny. I guess that's also highly individual of course.

Well, sadly, price doesn't equal quality at all. Look at overpriced stuff from Algorithmix (imho one of the worst things on the market and an eq for 1000 EUR?
). From what I checked, there's absolutely nothing special or complicated about Grimm LevelNorm, they just seized the time when so many people start to be obsessed by EBU... That's how market works

But the most sad thing about it: For all that money it's not doing a good job. As I said: Very slow and bad licensing model.
I'm tense about Vojtech's new licensing model with an owner account. When will it arrive?

The licencing model will stay the same - still all the goodies you can get, but you'll have an user account with all your licences, ability to upgrade etc.

And sorry to say, they includ a GUI as ugly as hell ... It's like you pay 200 grands for a car and it looks like it comes from scrap yardMeldaProduction wrote:Well, sadly, price doesn't equal quality at all. Maybe the sound quality is good, I can't say that. But the price-GUI-ratio is totally nuts

Exactly... workflow disgrace... Bob Katz says a good word about it, probably gets some paycheck (no big deal with that
) and people maybe even buy that junk...

Talking about loudness, mcompare and mloudnessanalyzer will do most of what I need. However, the target loudness (as shown in the meters and numerically) is limited to -23 LUFS. Could we, please, have user definable targets too?
Looking at Nugen´s Mastercheck it seems that -16 LUFS is becoming the standard for streaming audio, iTunes and more. So why not have this option too? Personally I would also like to master my backing tracks used for live performances at -14 LUFS so that they all play at the same volume.
Yes, I know I can just change the offset by -9 db. But changing the meter itself to match my target seems more appropriate and straight forward. Also why not have the option of using actual targets of -23 LUFS, -16 LUFS etc. on the meter as the read out value as an alternative to converting the target to zero.
