Strange, for me it just works when I've set it to "Reset preset" up around the middle where it says "New" next to the save buttons.. I can't get the filters to act as expected (there seems to be a portion of the unfiltered signal mixed in or something) but the FX does work as it should for me in 64-bit Reaper. It's possible you may need to activate the oscillator and make sure it's set to "Audio in". Also possibly you may need to feed it MIDI notes for the amps to open.
There's always some chance there could be an issue with your DAW/host, which one are you running in?
Though it doesn't say all that much there you could try to have a look at page 33 in the usermanual and see if you may need to set up that envelope follower or something, you can find it here: http://www.kv331audio.com/synthmaster/d ... manual.pdf
EDIT: figured out the mix in of unfiltered signal, both layers are active in the default preset so I just needed to deactivate the osc in layer 2.
ANOTHER EDIT: if needed for the envelope follower lower the treshold, increase velocity and lower attack.

Glad I could help.
Just make sure you open Layer 2 and check both oscillators are turned off. Just click on an oscillator if you're not sure if it's in or off and a text should turn up in the display that either says on or off (bypassed), click each oscillator til it says off (bypassed). Also make sure osc 2 in Layer 1 is turned off for now, until you become more familiar with Synthmaster as FX and/or have some specific reason for switching it on.
Also you have to make sure the filter is turned on for the oscillator you wish to filter. Sorry if I'm overexplaining anything here, I just remember how confusing all this was when I myself was completely new to all this and felt lost...

Pictures speak clearer than words sometimes, so I'll drop a few pictures in here... Modules that are active are brighter, you may know this allready but in case you don't or perhaps it might help someone else who's still not sure how to work things in Synthmaster 2..
This is how Layer 1 should look like if you have osc 1 on but no filtering: Layer 1, Filter 1 active: Layer 1, both filters active: You also need to watch for the difference between serial and parallell filtering as that gives different results, and the split mode if you're using both oscillators. Serial means filter 1 gets filtered by filter 2, hopefully the the difference between those modes make sense when you see the visual difference on the display as you change mode and play around with the filters.
Again sorry if I'm explaining something you allready know, I just hope this can be useful for somebody else if you allready knew this.
Have fun with those crazy filters!

While I'm at it posting a bunch of pictures, this is how you probably want Layer 2 to look like as you start out, all oscillators off:
Hopefully some of this was of some use. Happy experimentation!

Take a look at this screenshot.
Reset the preset settings from "New" menu, then set osc1 type to "AudioIn".
Set trigger note to any note like "C3", and set threshold to zero.

The problem with this is the reset preset has osc 1 active also in Layer 2, so when you try to filter osc 1 in Layer 1 you'll hear the dry signal mixed in from Layer 2. I think the reset preset should have a deactivated Layer 2 for ease of use.kv331 wrote:Reset the preset settings from "New" menu, then set osc1 type to "AudioIn".

Layer2 should be turned of when you reset the preset. Just double checked now.

It doesn't for me, I'll send you some info about system and DAW via your website so you can look into it.kv331 wrote:Layer2 should be turned of when you reset the preset. Just double checked now.
