I'll admit that I don't get the issue here. If you want to know the actual prices at AudioDeluxe (for example), you have to create an account, log-in, and then put the item in your cart.

JRR Shop's blowout page is the same way. Plugindiscounts is also the same. Uncle E advertises in the bargain thread often and no prices are mentioned.

At least they tell you which ones are actually on discount right now and have some sort of guide price. This was just "come here, get a good price on something maybe". As I've written above - if dealers start getting the idea that's OK every week or every day, it's sayonara Bargains Thread.

If you head over to ebay, then you'll see lots of people willing right this minute to pay lots of money for those units and (presumably) the sounds.

I'm not saying they're equivalent, but if you want the sounds from a unit that costs $600 used and can't afford that, then you might pay $150 for the sounds.

To be fair, that's not what you originally said to the guy. You complained about having to make an account and log-in to see prices. Other companies force the same sort of policy. I'm more on board with the thought you expressed here that specific items should be listed.

I don't want to see the Bargains Thread misused either, but it seemed like your initial complaint about it was pretty arbitrary. Maybe the company can open a Marketplace thread to let people know of their existence? That might be a better approach.

I think post is fine and actually I find the product itself interesting. I would be happy to purchase it but not for that price. And the fact that it's the original samples/waveforms doesn't justify the price in my opinion. From what I have seen other places for old samples like this, a price of $20-$50 would be more realistic.

Those sound modules were top of the pop at that time - but things have just changed and the market has become huge and the possibilities almost endless. It would be nice to have those sound modules for a nostalgic 90s retro sound but the price has to be adjusted then.
