Thanks for the various bits of feedback, christianmusicmaker.

Timestretch and looping in Cubase wasn't much fun imho.

Best timestretching experience I've had was using SoundForge, which I assume uses the same code as Acid. I guess a pro-audio editing tool is made for this kind of thing.

For looping, give me Live 4!

Either way TTOZ...speedshifting, time - stretching, or simply stretching audio :roll: I am more interested in the results than the process.I will let Jules stick to that and pay him for the finished product :hihi:

Your welcome...I hope the level of detail provided clarity rather than confusion. I certainly prefer less applications to produce music.

Problems with Cubase then? I had similar issues with my brief spell with SL.2.0

Samplitude 8 and Live 4 come pretty close to *that* application for me.

The first time I used Live 3 I was amazed. It simply is a great tool for loops. Now we have midi features as well. :-o

So headquest...how did the Sonar demo go? Happy? Or will you wait for Sonar 4 and then decide (maybe a better idea). 8)

What about EU pricing? Not an issue for you...?

Samplitude has had a reputation for being superb with audio (it really is) but weak with midi.

V.8 addresses these concerns for me but I assume you know what you need for midi work so you can judge if V.8 features will meet your requirements.

That Analogue Suite looks like what happenned to Digitalfishphones to me - I wonder if it will be in Samplitude too?

I haven't seen the light but I've seen the price : 500 !!! SX2 at 750 or so ...
Version 4 ? seems like Sound Forge : some features and 100 bucks more so I'll skip versions and wait for Live 7 or 8 ... :wink:

Since I've SX2, here's a deal to Mr Ableton : 200 for just the audio tweaks bag of tricks ( a LIVE LE version ) no MIDI, FX, VSTi's support ... etc ... really naked.

Deal done ?

And check out the price tag!! :-o :shock: :-o

Any mention or Rewire implementation? (not interested without it; beginning to think that you now

need two programmes open to have a truly flexible environment.

Thanks. I checked out the links and this does look impressive. I got the impression that you need the pro version to get all the MIDI stuff, but perhaps that's just in v.7.

I'll look forward to demo + reviews later in the year!
