How does zebra HZ stack up against diva (CPU wise)?

I am very much enjoying the DIVA filters in Zebra HZ, and I'm wondering if for simple sounds DIVA is more or less optimized. I'm not really into fully emulating old hardware so unless I'd be gaining a CPU advantage I'll stick with Zebra HZ. Also are there any plans to bundle a zebrify HZ that has the diva filters? I'd be super into that.

I would love to see a ZebrifyHZ too...Ah_Dziz wrote:I am very much enjoying the DIVA filters in Zebra HZ, and I'm wondering if for simple sounds DIVA is more or less optimized. I'm not holding my breath though. I suspect we'll see diva filters in zebrify 3.

The filers in HZ are the same in the sence that you can use "low quality" modes. Diva uses this same architecture. So Diva would take about the same processor usage. This is ofcourse without taking the rest of the synth in consideration. In my experience, Diva is heavier on the cpu.Ah_Dziz wrote:I am very much enjoying the DIVA filters in Zebra HZ, and I'm wondering if for simple sounds DIVA is more or less optimized. Well, it really depends.
In ZebraHZ you can use more of Diva's filters than you ever could in Diva - up to 8 in ZebraHZ, but just two in Diva. However, in Diva you can stack voices, in Zebra you can't. Math-wise, Diva has 16 HP filters and 16 LPs. ZebraHz has 64 of each, optionally. And also, Diva has the Multicore option, Zebra doesn't because of its Modulation Matrix.
In short: Diva is reliably expensive on CPU, while ZebraHZ gives you a range from much less CPU consuming to much, much more.

I remember urs saying there will be no zebrify 3. Is that changed?padillac wrote:I would love to see a ZebrifyHZ too...Ah_Dziz wrote:I am very much enjoying the DIVA filters in Zebra HZ, and I'm wondering if for simple sounds DIVA is more or less optimized. I don't remember it this way… not sure… as of now I wouldn't rule a Zebrify 3 out.masterhiggins wrote:I remember urs saying there will be no zebrify 3. Is that changed?
I do think however that Zebra3 development will take much longer if we say "yes, there'll be a Zebrify 3". Zebra3 development will be faster if we say "sure, once Zebra3 is finished we'll think about whether or not we need a Zebrify3"
As such, I wouldn't rule it out but I also won't promise anything… I mean, what if by then we'll have a working audio input for synth VSTi in all major hosts? There might be more to consider than we know right now.
