Hello,

I just cant get the trick with the grouping in the vst plugin manager. I tag some vst, double click in group, then they have the name I have given and where tagged with that name. But on the left still the complete list, that dont help me none. I want like in an explorer the groups listed as folders on the left side. Did I miss something ?

I need this for reorganizing from 32 bit to 64 bit. Just wanted to make a list with the ones I have already in 64 bit or I install new in the 64 bit version. And then someday maybe opposite direction, putting the 32 bit "rest" in one folder.

Any help very welcome,

Kind regards,

Richard

Havent used that feature myself but just had a look at it.
I think the idea is to use it in conjunction with the Browser and also when you click an empty Rack slot, if you know what I mean.

Yes, have seen it when I try to add a new 64 bit instruments to the rack. So it would not really help by organizing IN the vst plugin manager window, just later on. Any advices or trick that might help with that work of organizing hundreds of 32 bit plugins to 64 bit ?

Hmm, doesnt look like you can do it any other way than one by one, which in your case will be a task, unless anyone else knows more.
I need to look at the docs, I assume you have already done that though

You can actually select more than one vst at once using ctrl/select as in Windows then give a Group name in one fell swoop, if thats any help.

Same in Mac. I group my vst by function, thus I can easily compare. Easy to change group a vst is in, and if a group has no members it disappears. Did it once, and sessions become more relaxing.
