I may be being thick here, but I cant seem to find where to set a random start phase for the oscillators in MPowerSynth. I can find the start phase position, however I want it to be random (like in unison mode. I guess I have to use a random modulator for this right? Please help if anyone knows, Thanks, Jason.

Yes I believe this is right, there is no genuine random setting. But changing the phase also affects already playing notes because they are global, so a random modulator setup would not work as intended. I think there is no way to it except in unison mode.jmg8 wrote:I guess I have to use a random modulator for this right?

Yes, I just realised that too. Even if I synchronize the random modulator with lfo and sync with midi re trigger, it doesn't work. I need it to be at a different phase position per note. Oh, well, maybe if its not too difficult to add this option?

i was trying to find a workaround but no sucess. would be great if it was by default random with the option to retriger it

Yes agreed, most synths have this as default with an option to re trigger start phase.
If the phase is different per note it has a more natural sound similar to an analogue synth.
Although for basses it is better to have it retrigger, so as not to cause phasing problems.
I think Vojtech dislikes trying to emulate old analogue gear so maybe keep the default as it is, with a checkbox to make start position random?

You mean initial phase for each oscillator? That's what the phase in Unison panel is for.
