I may say that everyone who has used MPS, can find it a bit challenging at first :D

So I though that this would be a nice place to share the knowledge and tips, ask how to do this and that etc etc :)

I could toss the first question in the air.. How do I hook mps or two in the fx section to a mixer? I can get them connected to mixer (right click at it and get connection from..) but for some reason I can't get any sound from those extra mps's.

You need to activate midi in, in the right click menu of the MPS module.

Sometimes I had it that I still got no sound from that instance, I had to save the preset and load it again to make the instance work. But that is not reproducible.

Ok, few things to try.

Have you selected steal the input in the mixer (right click)

Right click on the MPS and enable midi input.

If this doesn't work open the advanced option (at the bottom) and click anywhere in the velocity window.
Reason for this is there is a bug that won't let the midi notes to MPS (only those in the fx section) this should fix it.

OK, about this bug...some clear workaround instructions that work for me.

If an instance of MPS is opened inside of the FX section or inside of MXXX, no sound is output, even after enabling midi in.
If you click the ADVANCED SETTINGS tab at the bottom of MPS (this needs to be the one that is not outputting sound, not the main instance of MPS) click the middle tab VOLOCITY SHAPE, then click anywhere in the velocity shape window. Done, that works for me anyway.

Ha, I also experienced this!

Did you forward this bug to Melda already? But Vojtech will also read it here I guess. My workaround was saving a preset and reopening it, as I wrote above.

guys something i wondering, is there some patches online with the share fonction in mps?

Post

No.. No sound.. I've created the mps to one block down and one right from "input" box, and mixer 2 down from input. I have input (in mixer) from 1 and 2 and I tried with that steal too but no. Only way to get soudn from extra mps is to let them go directly down to 2/3/4 :P

And yea I have the midi on :)

Post

Read above. Have you tried the velocity shape trick?
Jason @ Melda Production

Post

Yes I tried everything listed here.

Post

Hmmm, looks like a bug or something, but interestingly it works here :D. I'll keep checking though ;).

EDIT: Does any of you have a reproducible way to simulate it?

Well it does it every time I load a version of MPS inside of the FX module or in MXXX. I am using Ableton live 9 on Windows 10.

What da f***... :D It does that here too now! :o That must be something new... But that's a good news, since I can easily fix that ;).
