Well, didn't you can set the phase by dragging the waveform? A mod-link with random should also be possible, or am I wrong?

No a mod is global hence phase is the same for all voices. You currently only can have random phase with the unison feature.Tagirijus wrote:Well, didn't you can set the phase by dragging the waveform? A mod-link with random should also be possible, or am I wrong?

Test it out on any synth that has phase retrig -- dune 2, sylenth, electra etc.. For certain sounds it can make a big difference, especially tight and plucky sounds. It also adds consisting to the sound. I could write more but testing it is best. Further, once the retrig is set, you can phase shift until you get the sound your after. Retriggering from different points from the osc leads to different sounds from the same wave. In a way, its like a mini mini wavetable, but not as dramatic.Tagirijus wrote:Ah okay. Yeah, I should test it - you are right. Nevertheless thanks for the reply.

I'm glad to see you are still adding things to make the synth even better. I'm not sure what having random phase would do best, but I was kinding hoping for the opposite-- to have the phase re-triggered at the exact point every time a key is pressed.MeldaProduction wrote:Already doneTjgoa wrote:is there really no phase set for the osc's? For the record, you of course can set the initial phase, just move with the oscillator graph, but the new option will let every oscillator start with random phase.

@Tjgoa: phase retriggering has always been there, it's the default behaviour of MPS. Also choosing different start phases for different osc has always been possible.Tjgoa wrote:For certain sounds it can make a big difference, especially tight and plucky sounds. Thanks Vojtech for the random phase! That can be used to make pad sounds have more life.

Hehe, nice confusion here
.
Anyway yes, Zentralmassiv is just correct - the phase is always retriggered now (unless you use unison with a random phase mode). But there will be option to do the opposite - have a random phase every time.
