Multiband compressor visual feedback improvement please

My latest feature request was: Can we get a bitcrusher? A few days later a bitcrusher was released

My number 1 feature request for Melda plugins (I own MTotal bundle) is:

Better visual feedback for the multiband compressor (MMultiBandDynamics) and multiband limiter (visual feedback in the Bands window that shows how the sound is being affected).

I would love visual feedback similar to FabFilter Pro MB and Waves C6. Vojtech, you added the Analyzer, which shows the volume graph for the bands/frequencies. I would love you to add a volume graph that is superimposed that shows how the volume is being affected when changing the settings. Please consider..

Right now, I can see this visual data for each separate band, and see how the sound is being affected since I first have to click on a band to see the graph displayed on the right in the plugin, but I would like to see this info for all bands at the same time (by showing how the sound is affected directly superimposed with the Analyzer in the bands window, rather than in the separate "per band" window)

Also, you can press the button on the top left of the second picture's red box, it looks like a bar graph. That opens up the crazy timeline visualisation. That thing is nuts and can be totally configured how you like it.

As with everything Melda, there's usually a way to do what you want, it may just be tucked away somewhere.

And what I would like is this:



Instead of being able to visually see the changes per band as is currently implemented (click on a band, see the gain reduction in the "processing shape" graph) I would like to see this visual gain reduction in all bands at the same time in the main Band window ( see blue line I drew that represents all of the gain changes for all bands which can all be seen at the same time in the Graph window)

Sorry, that's not going to happen. Technically reasons and to be honest, I have 2 ways to understand what you mean, one doesn't make sense and the other seems very confusing . I think the analyzer with sonogram is just waaaay enough a crossover editor .

Thanks for that! I have been playing with the time graph settings now with the gazillion customizable visual display options. Nice! I didn't explore this part before I just customized a view that works for me and provides just the data that I needed.

Oh and by the way, I think it is great that each band has a Gate in MMultiBandDynamics!

I do have 2 feature requests:

1) When you open the Time Graph Settings, the "solo" and "Show/Hide" buttons do not have a different On/Off visual state when On and Off (the buttons look the same when they are engaged as when they are not engaged, and there is no LED light next to the buttons indicating which ones are engaged). It makes it hard to keep track of what has been soloed, and what I decide to Show/Hide.

I tried several visual styles and none of them show a different state when those buttons are engaged.

2) Be able to change the background color of the Time Graph separately from the background of the plugin.

1) Well, these buttons actually do not toggle anything, they just enabled/disable certain set of graphs, but that does NOT mean that only these will be enabled. Just check what the buttons do.

2) What do you mean? You can change colors of each time graph .

What about the colours for the multiband bands section? I have a nice colour scheme and the red colour doesn't match! Ha ha

Got it regarding 1). One question (bug?):

Under the BAND1 section, if turn off one or more options (WAVEFORM1, LOUDNESS1, etc.) and leave a few ON then click on "SHOW/HIDE for BAND1, all the "ON/OFF" switches under BAND1 turn off (to hide). Got it. However, if I click on "SHOW/HIDE" button again for BAND1, all the options are now on. The plugin didn't go back to what I had set before. "SHOW/HIDE" seems to be "All ON" and "ALL OFF". Shouldn't it be "ALL OFF" to hide but "SHOW" should only show the options the user had manually turned on previously under BAND 1? I would prefer this way...

I found the handy "INVERT" button in the Color Settings which has allowed me to make something that works in a style that I like

About the buttons - yes, they do NOT remember what you had before, they really simply enable or disable a set of graphs, that's it. It's meant to be the daily bread really, for example I rarely touch that. And you can save it as presets...
