Have you Iceland owners found any of those patches yet in there? What are some of the names? Would like to know what this sounded like because I missed it when it was released and saw how sought-after it was in the marketplace.

I'm not sure where "fair" comes into most business decisions!

Owners of Alchemy bought Alchemy and received Alchemy. You buy software for what it is, not promises of what it might be in the future - no one can predict the future.

Yes they did, they got the Alchemy they paid for.

It's part of Logic now, and Logic owners get the benefits of bundled improvements, like other DAWs do when they get upgrades. Logic has been extremely strong on bundled content for a while now.

Remember, Logic doesn't have any upgrade prices for major versions anymore - so everyone pays full price for Logic on every major version change. But Logic is also extremely affordable as Apple can afford to make it a loss leader, whereas other companies have to make their entire revenue from their DAWs. It's a fundamental strength of Apple, but it's not all roses, there are cons with Apple in charge as well (like lack of support, wall-of-silence, invisible developers and so on). Swings and roundabouts - regardless of what products you own, sometimes you make out, other times you don't.

Eh? Bizarre comment, that wouldn't change anything. It *is* the same synth.

Hey beely,
why can`t you let me alone with my sadness? What is your motiv to comment my thoughts? Why do you think it will be necessary to tell me about the unfairness of most business?
I only want to say, that this assimilation of little fishes from big ones, in this way, don`t give me positiv emotions. Thats all.
[ironic modus on] So please leave me alone with my sadness. I need compassion and no wise guy. [and off]

As much as I can empathize with those who feel they are missing out and are angry/sad, it's true that all of us who bought Alchemy got Alchemy. If Camel Audio were still in business, Alchemy 2.0 would be a paid upgrade so it's not like anyone would have gotten it for free...so again, when we paid for 1.x, we got 1.x, and it's still working and will for a long while to come, especially for Windows users using whatever OS to come which seems to be the case from what I hear.

If Omnisphere were stopped and went Windows only, yes I would be sad. But I would keep using mine until it could no longer function. Truth is I have a lot of old synths and stuff I bought years ago that I had to abandon along the way, but I guess I just moved on. I wasted a lot of money this way. Software is just a bad investment.

In all fairness to Ben / CA, this is how I see it: You start a company. Your company gets some customers, then more customers. Down the road you find it financially possible to add some new products because you're still in business. Wow! Your company grows to envelop some very famous customers. You find out your products are used in major releases/films and held in high regard. Just that alone would be thrilling for you who "just started a little business". Then comes along a major company who has selected your business and products as a potential acquisition, has solid funds to do so, and offers you a very lucrative deal. I mean really, this is like a dream come true.

Hey, I'm someone who has always gone above and beyond for people / clients, often giving way more for less than I charge on the principle of wanting them to be receiving the best I can offer. That's not good business from a business standpoint..probably pretty stupid, actually...but I couldn't do any differently. So even with those ethics, I can't imagine how Camel could have turned this deal down IMHO.

Alchemy is like the icing on the cake with this new Logic update. Lots of great additions to 10.2. I find it quite cool to see Alchemy's slightly revamped look as a Logic instrument. Happy days ahead.

This is a discussion thread. We're here to talk.

OSX owners, don't even have the grace to let Win users sulk a bit, without rubbing their clever noses in :P

You can have all the time you need. We do understand.

There are 2 main new threads for Alchmey in the forum now. One should be for us that want to sulk, the other for the Logic crowd :hihi:

I just received this and couldn't resist to share it:
angry user wrote: Hello KV331,

I am so angry at Apple, I will never forgive them for the rest of my life, I hate them and I hope Apple chokes on their own vomit and dies and rots in hell for 50 million years.

Can you please try to implement 100% of the features that Alchemy2 had, into SynthMaster?

Not just "some" of the features, we need a company to step up to the plate and promise to work towards the goal to 100% replace Alchemy 2.

I am just furious. Just f**king furious.
Works at KV331 Audio
SynthMaster voted #1 in MusicRadar's "Best Synth of 2019" poll
SynthMaster One voted #4 in MusicRadar's "Best Synth of 2019" poll

Wow. That is one angry user. Oh wait...
You need to limit that rez, bro.

I thought Ableton Live had that kind of feature sorted for a long time ?
I guess you did not look at the video... I would think that this may be a feature for a 'Synth' and not a DAW..

Just imagine having BigTone's Flex Lead played thru all of the 'settings' of Arp Dimension's, Divers in The Azure Blues (Luftrum)... now tweak it to your heart's desire...

That was a feature 'we' were looking forward to in Alchemy 2...

Edit.... Feature starts at 10 minutes into the video

:)

But it's a SHAME or at least a pity that apple does not provide Alchemy as an AudioUnit. Steinberg offers their own synths as vst3 at least. Is the alchemy inside wrappable to au?

Unbelievable that a plugin can cause so much pain or? I personally give a f*ck that Alchemy is now locked into Logic. Life is to short for that kind of sadness. Do you hear me? Life is to short!!! Move on!!! JUST DO IT!!!! :D
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.
