How are the 3000 patches from Logic compared to Camel's libraries?
Generally speaking, what are your impressions?

Can you please try to implement 100% of the features that Alchemy2 had, into SynthMaster?
Not just "some" of the features, we need a company to step up to the plate and promise to work towards the goal to 100% replace Alchemy 2.
I am just furious. Just f**king furious.
Classic...

You forgot the part about the 16 hour days, nights and weekends, sacrificing other aspects of your personal life to follow your dream, design and produce a set of quality products, provide excellent customer service, etc etc etc. Not to mention the personal financial risk involved in embarking on such a thing. You could "make it", or you could fail. Or more likely you end up somewhere in between, in the end left with nothing save for a folder filled with tax returns and bankruptcy filings.macmuse wrote: In all fairness to Ben / CA, this is how I see it: You start a company. Your company gets some customers, then more customers. Down the road you find it financially possible to add some new products because you're still in business. Wow! Your company grows to envelop some very famous customers. You find out your products are used in major releases/films and held in high regard. Just that alone would be thrilling for you who "just started a little business". Then comes along a major company who has selected your business and products as a potential acquisition, has solid funds to do so, and offers you a very lucrative deal. I mean really, this is like a dream come true.
No, no. Ben and co. had no right to cash in on their years of hard work and commercial success. Shame on them.
You need to limit that rez, bro.

I think my problem with Apple is simply Apple.
Making the customers (art/music) that made them into second class fodder while they train the masses into stupefied sheep. Disregarding their own human rights violations while smugly pointing out the others. Declaring they are good billionaires and the rest are evil.
If anything can make me consider them again, it is their acquisition and implementation of my favorite software, Alchemy. Well played. When you lack integrity, buy out a company perceived by most to have it.
Can't support their pricing and manufacturing philosophy at all though.
Probably time to start building my first (W)Hackintosh I suppose.
After skimming through this thread, I would like to ask those that have imported their Alchemy v1 patches into v2 if they were also able to import the designers sets into it also?
(i.e. Patchpool, Yuroun, etc.)

So, do i get this right? You hate Apple with everything you got, and criticize everything they are, and want to build a Hackintosh, to use their products?? Man, that's some twisted "Logic".BBFG# wrote:I think my problem with Apple is simply Apple.

Switch the browser to legacy mode, then you will see them all. Some minor changes are needed for some libraries:BBFG# wrote:

By the way: There's no need to move, import or export your old Alchemy libraries. The old stuff can be found via the third browser column, as "Legacy" content. All my old libraries were added automatically, including Simon's wonderful sounds. Very happy about that!
Furthermore, my 'old' Camel Audio Alchemy has been renamed to "Alchemy 1" in Logic automatically.
Hm, that was too early.... just realized that some legacy libraries don't seem to import. Refreshing the library doesn't help, either. I need to find out why most import just fine, while others don't... If somebody runs into the same problem, please let me know (and: how to fix this!).
EDIT: This affects just three libraries by Simon (Patchpool) - Aqualignum, MetaVox, The Vase. (Alchemistry & Co. work fine, though.)
EDIT 2: Solved. The new version expects a sub-folder within the main library folder inside "Presets", otherwise it won't show up. So I made a new folder within the library's preset folder, and moved all the presets there. Fixed the problem, presets show up now in Alchemy 2. So for example, the folder structure for "The vase" is now:
HD -> Library -> Application Support -> Camel Audio - > Alchemy -> Presets -> The Vase -> The Vase
Instead of:
HD -> Library -> Application Support -> Camel Audio - > Alchemy -> Presets -> The Vase

Sometimes i wish i`ve hold on synthmaster, cause you nice guys there. Nice people are a good reason to spend money for their products. Thats why i sometimes regret to buy nice software from little companys "second hand".

Some people confuse dependence with exclusivity.
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Apple used to have two music divisions, both were regular customers of mine.chk071 wrote:So, do i get this right? I don't hate THEM, I hate some of the things they do. And most of that has to do with their sweat-shop manufacturing and pricing the bottom end components at top end prices. I do have a great distaste for their new niche market (iCustomers) though. But that is just the state of our dystopic society. If it weren't for the fact that there are still real artists and musicians to remind me of their historic importance, I would write them off completely.
Software, good. Manufacturing and sales, not so much.
Hackintosh seems to be the logical way of using the one while reducing the support for the other.
