I don't think it's illegal, but i remember reading that Apple won't provide support. Well, no wonder. It's sorta like jailbreaking your iOS device.TheoM wrote: hackintosh is illegal and not allowed be discussed here under kvr's anti piracy rules.

In any case, a few words from Ben G. of Camel Audio would have been nice, so that their users know what's happening! Simply disappearing and coming back in new clothes isn't a nice step!
But you cannot blame Apple for buying smaller companies, every big company does it.

Hey apple haters. You are a bunch of babies. Grow up.
The people at Camel made a business decision, that's all. Software has been sold, re-assigned, updated so it's not compatible with old versions and discontinued for both Windows and Mac thousands of times over the years, and it will happen again. We should all just be glad that you can get great synths and DAWs for very low cost now, compared to how it was thru the 80's and 90's when you had to spend thousands every year to buy one new synth -- or to upgrade from the 8 bit to 16 bit samplers, etc...
The fact is Logic Pro X is a pretty awesome program, and kudos to Apple for continuing to support it with outstanding new features like adding Alchemy and all the other incremental improvements.

I'll remember that the next time a small developer releases a Windows only plugin and the Apple Brats start crying from their prams for a Mac version. They'll expect that small developer to buy a Mac just to program a version for their over priced under powered iToys. How many times over the years have we seen Mac users crying because a plugin is windows only ? I've lost count...........ontrackp wrote:Hey apple haters. You are a bunch of babies. Grow up.

Let me put it this way...TheoM wrote: so you have a great distaste for me, as i use an iphone and ipad. thanks.
Oh sure, i am very dystopian - really love that idea
hackintosh is illegal and not allowed be discussed here under kvr's anti piracy rules.
You are one of the cool guys here, so i will just take the above as a rare disagreement
Not every iPhone user I meet comes off as an idiot.
But every idiot I meet usually has an iPhone.
Recent studies show a 10% loss of cognitive abilities of those depending on 'smart phones'.
They also show that iPhone users run an even higher loss of cognitive abilities at 12-15%.
A 2-5% higher loss than android/windows phones.
There are now 'cognitive exercises' to help combat that.
Unfortunately, its not an 'app'.
And while I don't care for the term 'hackintosh' either, I don't think it's illegal or piracy.
There are quite a few PCs built using Apple compliant components.

Thanks so much everyone. I think I'm enjoying this thread even more than the update.

If a developer wishes to stay small in the pro audio world, they will develop only for the PC.Teksonik wrote:I'll remember that the next time a small developer releases a Windows only plugin and the Apple Brats start crying from their prams for a Mac version.
