Synthi modules for Diva?

I am just wondering how far up Symthi modules are for Diva. Is there any plans or even interest? What is the best way to approximate a Synthi with the current modules?
Thanks!

Double that EMS diode ladder filters are somewhat special. They are diode ladder and have their own sound.
But is there any development on Diva planned in 2015 at all?

Diode ladders are on our ever growing wishlist (hehehe), but we don't know yet which and how they overlap (TB-303, Synthi, System 100) and, foremost, how much CPU they will munch. Diode ladders have no buffers between the stages which makes the calculation a great deal more complicated.
There'll be a Diva update shortly, but it doesn't introduce new modules.
We don't have a Synthi/VCS but we have a few replica of filters and oscillators around. Quite naturally, Diva doesn't offer matrix patching features but I agree that diode filters would be a great choice for an update.

EMS Synths are very distinctive because of the tone. I grew up with Soviet electronic soundtracks and when I heard BBC Radiophonic Workshop recordings I was really impressed how close tone-wise both of them were. Both were using Synthi 100.Urs wrote:Diode ladders are on our ever growing wishlist (hehehe), but we don't know yet which and how they overlap (TB-303, Synthi, System 100) and, foremost, how much CPU they will munch. I think Synthi oscs are also a bit specific considering difference between osc 1 and 2 and pwm on both of them.
To my ears 303 and Ems Synthi are sounding quite different but it might be superstition and nobody ever tried to make acid on VCS
What's gonna be there: Inputs? Osc->filter level control?Urs wrote:There'll be a Diva update shortly, but it doesn't introduce new modules.

There's a lot more to the 303 sound than its filter. The behaviour of the envelope and accent circuits is at least as important.

None of those. Improved default skin, preferences panel and bugfixes.david.beholder wrote:What's gonna be there: Inputs? Osc->filter level control?Urs wrote:There'll be a Diva update shortly, but it doesn't introduce new modules.

That's why people who know what they are doing should do it.hakey wrote:There's a lot more to the 303 sound than its filter. The behaviour of the envelope and accent circuits is at least as important.
For know I'm ok with Hive's 303 sounds.

I can't see Diva getting a full 303 emulation, filter, envelope, accent and sequencer and all. Maybe I'm wrong.2ZrgE wrote:That's why people who know what they are doing should do it.hakey wrote:There's a lot more to the 303 sound than its filter. You're right. Diva won't be a 303 emulation, even if we nail the 303 filter.hakey wrote:I can't see Diva getting a full 303 emulation, filter, envelope, accent and sequencer and all.
