Hi Howard..thanks. The funny thing is, last night after i posted here i went to the Manual and typed Drive into it. The only time the word Drive pops up is in the Rotary Effect explanation so i thought lets give it a try and it kinda worked, lol. Thanks again.

2. The Uhbie Filter, is it after the SEM Filter?
3. The Digital Osc after what?
Thanks

I don't think it says anywhere and i don't think the company can state that legally. But looking at those i guess that's what it is.

Hmmm, Filter overdrive was one essential feature of the MOOG sound. [1]
Can't believe there's no dedicated knob in the Diva for it.

[1] Don't know if the story is true that the overdriven filter was happening due to a calculation error of the MOOG engineers

I think that the filter in the Moog model can be overdriven, just playing with the levels of the oscillators. If you play all of the oscillators at full level in the mixer, the filter is overdriven. Also, you have a feedback knob that can also help in overdriving the filter; this knob helps reproducing the feedback trick used by many Minimoog users, where the output of the synth was fed back into the audio input of the filter. I may stand corrected though.

You're right - Moog filters, like basically all analogue filters that are voltage controlled (not just a knob to set the frequency but also envelopes and stuff) can be overdriven.Chris-S wrote:Hmmm, Filter overdrive was one essential feature of the MOOG sound. [1]

But one doesn't need a drive knob for this. One just needs a way to set the volume of the oscillators. This is how it's done in all portable vintage Moog synths and this is also how it's done in Diva
In addition, higher output volumes (VCA section, not global output knob) result in more distortion, both in a Minimoog and in Diva.
