i asked this some years ago, and you didnt want to do it, for whatever reason, but i see there is a similar thread just under this, asking for tempo synced envs.
well my request is this: any chance of the area that displays custom mod curves have a snap settings that make sense to a musician?
atm they snap to 20% 40% 60% 80% 100%, which splits the mod loop into 5 sections. well wouldnt 4 sections be more sensible for music? 4 beats to the bar and all that?
you wouldnt have to change the grid to display beats, you could just change the numbers to 25% 50% etc. at least we could work out where the beats are, without having to do calculations before putting a node down

Are you talking about the "edit signal shape" editor?
You can place, let's say, 3 anchor points (dividing to 4 sections), then right-click, which will show "properties of all points", then click "distribute points" there, it will move them horizontally to equal distances between each other.
And I think they do snap to 5% increments, if not, there are buttons besides the "snap to" in the same "properties of all points", to set the grid.

thanks for the reply
yeah i see what you mean, and if it was only 4 points i needed, then yeah, that would do. but try splitting into 8 (1/8th timing) and we no longer got snap to grid. and im usually splitting in 1/16, which means, even it it did snap into place, it would still be confusing to remember which 8 dots are on the 1/8 etc. especially as i have dots lower down doing curves and things.
4 dots snapping on white lines would be enough to make it managable for making rhythmic patterns, without having to calculate things, or get lost, every time i open the mod

Ok, I'm lost here, completely... What are you talking about? Perhaps a screenshot? There are so many graphs, curves, modulators and stuff, that you really need to be specific.

I believe they are talking about the "custom shape" editor, or "transformation shape" (same thing)MeldaProduction wrote:Ok, I'm lost here, completely... What are you talking about? Perhaps a screenshot? There are so many graphs, curves, modulators and stuff, that you really need to be specific.
And the way the nodes snap to grid.

thank you!jmg8 wrote:Click the magnet symbol next to snap x to grid and change the value to 9. It then snaps to 1/32.
Does that work for you?
that fixes the problem, so it looks like vojtech had a few more complaints after me.
i dont use melda for this sort of thing, because of that problem, but it looks like its sorted now.
thanks
