Synthi modules for Diva?

Hm, you've got XILS doing the Synthi, multiple people doing 303s and now Roland's doing a System 100 plug... I think of all those the one I'd love to see in Diva would be the System 100 filter. Not because Roland's doing a bad job of it, but because they have it in a stupidly crippled plug in.

TBH, I'd be happy with any new module. I use Diva as a (semi) modular, so the more varied the component palette the better.

So far most frequent filter requests are: Yamaha CS80-filter, Ems Synthi filter, Prophet 5 filter right?

Yes to CS-80, Prophet 5. Synthi hasn't been requested too often. More so the TB-303.

My stance:

Anything CS-80 deserves a different architecture than Diva offers, maybe needs a whole different concept. We've pretty much ruled the CS-80 out for Diva. Just the filter doesn't cut it, the CS-80 was never about its filter but all about its architecture, of both hardware and synthesis concept.

Referencing Prophet 5 modules should be done with a Rev2 one. Those are hard to come by, in a useable condition anyway. For later models we have a Pro One as reference, but I don't think it adds enough extra character over the existing modules to warrant the effort. In fact, if anything, I think I'd do a faithful emulation of the Pro One because it has quite a few tricks up its sleeve that can't be done in Diva.

From a TB-303 we would only be interested in the filter, and it would add a different palette. This is a favourite. Technically there's an overlap between this filter and a Synthi filter. However, this one is possibly the hardest to model vintage filter.

Another favourite is the Polivoks filter. Completely different territory than anything else available in Diva today. Also on the difficult side.

Lastly, we would like to improve existing models. We could add a more aggressive transistor ladder. We could add a diode based Sallen-Key to the "Bite" section.

There are a lot of options.

Can't wait to see how Diva evolves! I don't care much about 1:1 replicas, I'm just so happy to have so many different tones available packed into one synth.

Wouldn't 303 enveloppes worth it as well?
Oh, and what about a "Divafied" Bazille filter? ;)

I also think more different env types would be very welcome. An ADBDSR (Poly800)? A DAHDSR? Definitely something that has slope controls for A, D, R. A way to trigger an envelope via modulation (if that's already possible, please fill me in!).

Yeah, we're toying with a vintage envelope with rate/level pairs...

Ooh, a DX7 envelope? :D

alpha Juno, much rather :clown:

(a DX-7 has never made it into our realms... even though I've been looking for one, on and off)

But as always: None of this is happening anytime soon. I have planned a filter kitchen for my fellow developers in Q4 this year, but that doesn't mean it's automatically going to end up in Diva.

Whenever it happens is fine. Just shows the dedication you guys have to updating your products, which is much appreciated.

Well, I actually did research and got slightly confused (from here: http://www.timstinchcombe.co.uk/index.php?pge=diode)

TB 303 - Transister ladder??? :o :

Wouldn't 303 filter without envs, oscs, seq be source of permanent complains from acceed wonnabes?

Prophet 5r2 might be great sales point, especially together with another blind test :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: .
I'm not sure how it works, but there should be gearslutz in Berlin with Pro5r2 and some of them could show great respect to u-he or at least rent it to you with reasonable price?

I personally have weak spot for Synthi because of nostalgic value of it's sound. So i think Synthi is growing up in popularity.

Would there be space for certain non-modules requests like:
Better arp, seqencer, realistic individual voices fluctuations and explicit osc gain/overdrive controls?

How about a DX7 filter? Shouldn't be too hard.
