Hi Folks,
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to set up Tracktion so that it can record the audio coming through my computer, eg, if I want to record some audio from youtube.
I used to do this with Wavelab lite, but I no longer have this...
Any help would be appreciated!
Am still on T3... (will upgrade soon, promise!)
Cheers

Depends on your soundcard. Tracktion can use regular windows drivers, so if the soundcard has a 'what you hear' input, or equivalent, then that'd work.

Failing that, there are slightly tricksy ways of doing it, ie software often known as a 'virtual audio cable', such as this:

Search KVR for similar thread titles to 'record from Skype', or 'record from Youtube' there'll be useful information in the,.

Or just extract the audio directly?

Audacity, but remember to stop email noises coming through.

Thanks all, 3 good suggestions.

Back to KVR after a 7 year hiatus, good to see the Tracktioneers are still so helpful :)

Copy the youtube url and paste it into this:

Choices of bitrates too....

Then drag the mp3 onto a new clip and you're good to go.

Actually, you don't even need to do the paste. Just copy and it grabs the audio for you to download.
It's free and works.
