First off, thanks for the 50% off bundle deal. I can't afford much, but did upgrade the free effects bundle ($28 best deal ever!) I do have Mmultibandconvolution and am planning to add Mautodynamic soon. Is there any way to know the timeline of when it will come up again 50% off?

Post

As far as I know the weekly 50% off sales are totally random. But it seems that you are a lucky guy. Check out the actual weekly 50% off:

So to your question "How long?" I say "Not even a second anymore" :P

I've been looking for this specific information for about an hour now and have been unable to find a definitive answer. I'm trying to figure out what to do before these sales end. I can either upgrade to the full mix bundle (which includes MDynamicEQ) but that deal ends soon, or I can purchase MAutoDynamicEQ on sale this week.

I'm really only looking for a dynamic EQ, (though there are some nice plugins in the mix bundle that may get use, but I'd probably be upgrading for the "life long upgrades" to the bundle" so I'm wondering what the main difference is between MAuto and regular. Is it just the ability to "match EQ?" (I already have DAWS which have match EQ, and frankly never use them). But maybe I'm missing something?

Thanks in advance for any insight you can share.

Edit: bundle sale now over - hopefully will come again someday. :(

I just bought MautodynamicEq, but one difference is...it has two extra bands (and Eq matching). There may be more that I'm not aware of.

I had the same hesitation between mDynamycEq and mAutoDynamicEq. I went for the former (well, the mixing bundle), because 5 bands is perfect for me (especially since there is additional HP and LP, so this is really 7 bands). However, I was a little disappointed to find another difference with the "Auto" version: there is no modulators in mDynamicEq. It's probably not essential for mixing/mastering purpose, but Melda's modulators are so versatile than I can imagine a few use cases (e.g. add a bit of pitch following to a band). You might take that into consideration.

Post

Exactly! The modulators, these are very important for some creative work, sometimes may be used even for mixing.

Also the AUTO section is not just for matching. I use it sometimes for ducking.
For example, I put the plugin on the kick channel, match the eq curve. Then move it to my bass channel and use the sidechain from the kick to duck the bass. This is pretty transparent as we only duck the frequencies that the kick occupy (leaving more of the bass intact)

This sounds pretty neat. Is there a video showing this in detail I could try out?
