Hi Vojtech,
if I´m in temporarily solo mode (shift+Alt), the little information window (frequency, decibel...) doesn´t appear the q factor. Is this the way you want it? I would prefer to see all infos about the node in this mode.
One more try for a direct responding AGC mode in the equalizer plugins. Only here it does make sense in my opinion or only here I´m really missing it. Why? I try to work most of the time with subtractive equing, but in this moment the signal is getting quiter and maybe it´s only a psychological feeling, but we all know quiter audio doesn´t feel "good" and "alright", so I have to process the AGC or manually adjust the output volume, but WHY? Think about it again and again and aigain......
Every new eq (ProQ2, Slickeq...) has this implemented and for me this works really good, I know we already had a long discussion about it and you mean it´s not possible in the real world. I only wanna use melda eqs, cause the other eqs are missing so much features yours have.
Thanks and greets
Marek

Hi Marek,
the Q thing is a little glitch, I'll check it out.
As for AGC, I don't know what more to tell honestly. I think I have said everything in the other forum. I even tried these plugins and it just doesn't work, it cannot after all... The AGC is the only way it might work, and it won't be 100% either.

Not 100% is correct, different positions in the song get different results, what is a normal. behaviour in my eyes.
But after your thoughts, everything treated by these plugins should generate problems in the audio or not, but I hear and saw productions, which use this feature and everything was fine.

It's not about problems, it's about the fact that you cannot anticipate anything just by having a static eq curve (and with dynamic eq curve you are well...done). You can as well move randomly output going a little bit up if you are using a highpass filter and you have the same thing...

The problematic for the dynamic eq I understand, but for the static eq it should be not that difficult. Toneboosters Eq shows in his graph what the plugin is doin for auto gain compensation. I don´t know if this is the way every plugin does it under the hood or if there is some magical algorithms, which I don´t think.
So, if you are boosting a frequency, the frequencies around the spot frequency get more silent. Slickeq does it in the same way, as I can see in the graph. Really no mystical, but effective.
Can you add this as a second agc mode for static eq settings, as I asked before.

Sorry Marek, this is just not planned.
And this thing really works for pink noise probably
... Otherwise it is just as good as random gain...
I still don't know understand why so much fuzz about it. Just enable AGC and use the Set button when happy and you'll have far better estimate than this...

I understand that, but I just don't think this helps really. It just brings a big random factor
.

By ear it does work for me, but you are the scientist and I believe in your words for gettin only the best for my signals.

True. The whole point of the AGC in our plugin is that adjusts not only to EQ curve and some single predefined signal, but also the actual signal you are processing.
