don't know who makes the rules or precisely what they are, but I'd just like to say that I, for one, benefit when someone posts a lower price in the main thread for a previously announced bargain.

Personally I'd like to see such posts considered "on topic" -- and continue to appear in the main thread -- rather than being banished solely to the discussion thread here.

Even if the post is misleading?
Best deals from Waves, Eventide, SynchroArts, McDSP and more.

Well, the idea is that if this were allowed, most deals would end up getting posted multiple times and then the whole thread would turn into a mess.

I was looking at M-Audio keystation 49II keyboard in a music store the other day

Paying somewhere between $100-150 seems pretty good value, as software valued at $250 is included:

$150 SONiVOX Eighty-Eight Ensemble
$100 AIR Music Tech Xpand!2
Ableton Live Lite

I have the 61 key version.. I actually like it.. the keybed is not comparable to the luxury models (I would hope obviously) but has a pretty decent feel and is no-nonsense.. plus it has a midi out as well as usb.

The software is mediocre imo.. and SONiVOX Eighty-Eight Ensemble seems rather buggy.. I wouldn't buy it for the software. Buy it because you want the keyboard.. and the software is a nice added touch. at least that is my take on it!

Personally like both the EightyEight2, with nice layers, as well as Xpand!2, a sweet rompler.
I consider them great value, especially when you get them free. Each is worth at least $50 IMO.

In 2015, I find Xpand!2 sounds very thin and lifeless... it is the sampleset they are using. It is too bad as it is otherwise an interesting, easy to use rompler. If you are looking for a workhorse, multi-instrument rompler, I'd look at Steinberg's or IKM's more modern, robust candidates first.

I've tried EightyEight2 on both a Win7 64bit and a Win10 system.. both have issues with the version M-audio is bundling with their keyboard. Issues as in completely crashing... it is very unstable. maybe it is the version you get (since it comes directly from m-audio). It does sound pretty good though when it is functioning!

And you're not getting them for free as the cost is bundled into the price of the keyboard. That said, you do get a serial code for each. But I wouldn't give them to my enemy (if I had one).

I'm thinking that one could buy the keyboard, and be able to almost get the money back afterwards by selling the included software licenses?

Should be possible to get $40 for Xpand2 and the same for Ensemble in the market place?

Possibly.. I'll have to double check that when I get home and check my m-audio account.

Actually, I remembered my pwd so I see in my m-audio account that both the Xpand2 and the 88 are downloaded FROM your m-audio account and NOT the actual software developer's site.

There is a serial number for each though that you must use to register the software upon installation. Not sure if one could just pull the software from the dev's site and use the serial.. so that might be a bit of an issue.

In the box there is a paper that says to go to this site and register your keyboard.. doing that loads the software entrances into your account. So it might not be possible to sell them..

Btw.. there is also a Promo code when registering the keyboard if you are interested in the Air Instruments too:

Maybe try the demos to see if you like them, Num.

If it's anything like the AKAI stuff, you'll get an iLok serial number for each when you register the keyboard. Unused you should be able to sell them no problem, of course you can always demo them for 15 days aswell.

Personally i weren't that impressed with Eighty-Eight. There's a lot of velocity layers but only a few individual notes sampled per octave. I never tried Xpand2, although its worth noting that its 64-bit only.

Sensual Grooves March 19, 2015

Aftershock is not listed as new and I got the E-mail about that February 4th, 2015.

So based on this info, it seems that a title need to be over 6 months old, before losing its status as "new"
So got mail from Zero-G today that Sensual Groove is on sale for the first time, so it indeed looks like a product must be 6 months old before it can go on sale.
And when the levee breaks....

Today Sensual Groove is on half price sale :o :hihi:
