MXXXCore - Good news for anyone on low-budget ;)

Hi folks,

so, it took some time, but apparently this is possible (well, because already done ). So MXXX will be available in 2 licencing models:

A) MXXX or MTotalBundle, which simply unlocks the whole thing. This is already available.

B) Additionally there will be MXXXCore. It will contain only the minimum basic FX and you can unlock the rest of them using your licences to other plugins. If an FX is not available, the plugin won't let you insert it and if you try loading a preset with it, it will fail as well. The price will be 99 EUR, probably .
Some examples for the FX:

- If you want to unlock Dynamics FX, you need to buy MDynamics or MMultiBandDynamics, or any bundle that contains one of them.
- If you want to unlock Autopan FX, you need to buy MMultiBandAutopan or any bundle that contains it.
- If you want to unlock Vocoder FX, you need to buy MVocoder or any bundle that contains it.
...

Licences for MFreeEffectsBundle are not relevant here.

What made you change your mind?
The flood of FR's and general requests for a budget version?

Either way, I'm looking foward to a release, if it's not too crippled.

Which brings me to this:

So there won't be ANYTHING useful built into. Want a compressor in the matrix, you need to buy MDynamics or another compressor (MDynamicEQ won't work). Want an EQ, you need to buy one of the full versions of the EQ. Want a Limiter, etc, etc, etc.

I kind of expected a BASIC TOOL SET like with the MFreeEffects/MProEffects Bundle. But from this list, there is nothing at all?

What about those that would upgrade, or are already upgraded to Pro since they don't need much more? Actually... why not sell MXXX Core for 99EUR and bundle MFreeEffects with it (being unlockd to Pro)? Wouldn't that push general sales a bit, since it's an appetizer to even get the "ProEffects" bundle at bar minimum?

What about the Creative, Mixing and Mastering Bundles? Will "MXXX Core" be bundled at some point (I'm sure I'm not the only one asking this, but I'm the first to write it down)?

What existing licenses do count for "unlocking" - and actually what will be unlocked?

I really like this idea. If anything, it will be really useful (win for us) and convince users to buy more plug-ins to host in MXXXCore (win for you)

As for MFreeEffectsBundle, it will NOT be part of it, well, partly. Things like Oscillator and NoiseGenerator will be there for free, but not things like Autopan for example. That would make the whole creative bundle obsolete for 49 EUR, so nono!... (I sense I might have opened a pandora box... just as I expected... trying to make people happy for a few bucks and they will want more and more and more... classic )

Actually, not at all.
If you say "it's making it obsolete", you still misunderstand that people have actually the option to choose.


Example:
- people want the ProEffects Bundle, but not MXXX Core
- so they pay 49EUR


- people want MXXX but expect a suitable tool-set to boot
- so they invest 99EUR
- FreeEffects bundle included but with Nag Screens, no advanced features (modulation), no resizing, etc (as it is currently)
- nothing gained, nothing lost. If anything, this sparked interest for all other "big" modules which are so much more comfortable to use


- People want MXXX but with a suitable tool-set, no nag screens and more advanced options
- they invest 129EUR
- ProFX bundle included


People want to go ape-shit on tools and modulation, on top of what they already unlocked (in my case: dynamicEQ) - they invest 399EUR. Or... the loyalty discount that they are getting offered.


You still make profit one way or another(!) - there are only so many tools that you can get. And at some point, it's "end of the line". Especially with "updates for live" and "Total Bundle" users.

The other bundles start at 399EUR, but lack the "simplified" versions (FreeEffects) unlocked as ProVersion (you still have to buy that extra!). But if you bundle MXXX Core with THESE packages, like you did with MTotalBundle... then these users actually have an advantage. Unless you ask them to pay 50EUR on top of it as upgrade, but with the "price reduction" as loyalty bonus.

Boom - both profit and happy customers.

Yes you did open it. But with that comment, you just pressed all the wrong buttons (at least with me) yet again. Didn't happen the first time (remember your insane resale transfer fee idea a couple of months back? Or the refusal to even consider a "consumer" version of MXXX?)

Give your users some credits - we're not out to "rob" you.

Actually it's far more complex than that. MFreeEffectsBundle is a steal for 49 EUR, there's more like 20 effects. Assuming that this bargain will unlock MXXX modules is just about insane. It would really KO all other bundles, MXXX itself, everything, not gonna happen sorry.

As for the limitations you added - this makes no sense at all! Imagine you buy MXXXCore, there would be no modulators??? Until when??? You buy a first commercial plugin or something? And imagine explaining such superovercomplicated system to customers, I'm way too long on support to understand that this would be a suicide . So absolutely not. MXXXCore will have all the features of the plugins, but unlocking the dedicated plugins will need the commercial licences.

And it's not about anyone robbing anyone. It's about keeping the value. What you are suggesting would be an end of the company .

I'm guessing this should be treated as a gateway for people to get into MXXX without spending full money, which lets not forget will be 1000 bucks after the intro price. You can use your already purchased tools in the awesome modular flexibility of MXXX. Plus it comes with a handful of utility tools like utility, crossover, etc.

Anything more than the above would cannibalize sales of other melda products. Melda plugins are already ridiculously cheap compared to the competition (check the prices of Waves and Fabfilter). But people are always going to ask for more. Even if it were free people would find a way to complain.

Well I for one am rather excited for this.

Being a modular-headI have been gradually adding to my arsenal of Melda Plugins specifically with the aim of being able to use MXXX, but I was getting a little sick of spending money on so many similar plugins. ( I Don't need 3 different stereo enhancers! )

Many thanks for making this available! Any Idea on when we might expect it out?
