can z2 mmap do this?
this has been bugging me for literally years. im trying to do it again now, and cant figure it out.
what i want to do, is to create a resonance sweep that is non linear, so that when i link filt cut and res to y1, the freq goes from 0 to 100 as normal, but i want the res to start at zero, go up to 40 when y1 is half way, and the res finish on 0 when y1 is full.
ok, let me try and simplify
y1 (using the top half) 0 - 100
y1 at 0 = filt cut 0
res 0
y1 at 50 = filt cut 50
res 50
y1 at 100 = filt cut 100
res 0
now i know its possible using the full y1 range of -100 to 100, but the thing is, i want customised res curves, so a simple up/down isnt getting what i want.
can mmap do this? i've tried everything and cant figure it out
edit:
ok so im thinking the only way would be to be able to select y1 as a modulator in the mmap dropdown?

Sorry, don't know how to do it... custom XY shapes would be cool!
I'm a bit surprised to find that the modulation amounts (and via too for that matter) can't be assigned to XY controls anymore... I remember one could assign them!

Interesting point... I'll look into this... (there were a lot of changes due to the new ModMatrix in Hive, maybe this was an overlooked collateral)3ee wrote:Sorry, don't know how to do it... custom XY shapes would be cool!

Oh, as for the OP... use the Constant value in the ModMixers. Map to XY, use ModMixer -> ModMapper to give the constant any curve you can think of.

But the problem is that you can neither choose XY or ModMix as Input for the ModMap.
You can only route the output of the ModMap in the Modmix.
Or am I missing here something?

That might be trueMarian W wrote:But the problem is that you can neither choose XY or ModMix as Input for the ModMap.

Use a really slow gated LFO, Square Up-Down instead?

ok thanks for the replies.
at least i know i can stop trying to do it, i'll just automate the res seperately.
and yeah, custom cuves in the xy would be great, especially for unpredictable things like the comb filter. zeta does this by way of a little dropdown in every matrix slot, with linear, slow, fast, octave etc, but i guess mmap would be better, if you could remember to do it

The workaround with the slow LFO that Urs suggested works fine (see attachment). But you're right, it's a kludge, it could be made easier. BTW cutoff and resonance are both controlled by X1._al_ wrote:ok thanks for the replies.

Click on '+' to float the Mod Mapper, switch to "Perform" and try it.

ok tbh i was kinda trying to ignore urs' post, as even the mmap starts to confuse me, when i get out of key mode, but i'll download that file and have a look.Howard wrote:The workaround with the slow LFO that Urs suggested works fine (see attachment). btw whats mod mix? is it the mix module or something new? im still on rev 3304 as i read some stuff about slow graphics, and my tracks are pushing limits as it is
thanks though, i'll have a look at that file

Mod Mix has inputs for 3 modulators which you can then mix in a few different ways.
(You should update to the latest rev, it fixes slow loading.)

Study the manual pages 56 to 58, _al_, until you become a mod mapping and mixing expert - enjoy!_al_ wrote:...even the mmap starts to confuse me, when i get out of key mode
