Moving/Saving between Edit Clips question.

Hey all,

as some of you might know sometimes moving one edit into another fails with an error message.

Sometimes not. I am not able to recreate this. All my edit clips are saved all the time.

So there shouldn't be the message "Edit not saved, do you want to save it?"

and obviously the EditClip is also not empty. (T6 Error message tells me "Source Clip is empty", but it isnt...)


So my question is if there is some specific order in doing things necessary so that this works consistently.

For me right now its working like 50/50 and I don't know where the mistake in doing things is made.

Any one can share some insights?

I got something like that when I was playing earlier in the year. I may have posted about it.

I know there was sometimes a problem if I altered the length of the edit clip. Oh - wait, no I remember that. If you create an edit clip that's say 12 bars long, then you paste it somewhere, then you go and extend the 12 bars to, say, 20, when you go back to the pasted version it updates it by stuffing the 20 bars into your 12 bar space.

I've checked back, and my problem, which sounds a lot like yours, was fixed by saving when I'd finished editing the edit clip.

Hey Jabe,

thanks for your response. I think I indeed have change lenght. I will investigate further.
However in my case its not that I get an empty clip or a timestretched one, but it flat out doesn't work at all
50% of the time. But I' ll test some more, because I need to know what breaks this feature.
When I got something I will post this here as well in case anyone else will have the same problem in the future.
