Those with a smattering of German will opt for the pronunciation ‘batzilla’, while others might not have progressed beyond ‘Ba–siiil’, as bawled by Sybil Fawlty. Fortunately there’s way more to Bazille (it means bacterium) than how you say it.

or from the manual:

A couple of years ago I demonstrated a prototype of what I thought would become the very first ‘rack’ within Berlin Modular. I called it ‘Bazille’, which is German for bacterium and should be pronounced something like ‘Batzilla’

I remember seeing a video where Urs pronounced it very german with a dark voice like BAZILLE! Made me laugh.

So the German word from drums literally translates as beat thing?! I'm not sure why i find that so funny but i do.

There is no real translation for beat in german.

You might translate it to Schlagsequenz or something like that, but it probably wouldn't be used like that much.
