ok, working a long time now with tracktion, but maybe i've missed something.
if i record a guitar (or what else) and the buitiful "chunk" lies a littlebit in front of the 1. now i cut it there. can i move the clip with the clip not snapping to the 1.
i know i can cut it a 16th or 32th or so before the 1 but it's horrible to zoom to the arrangement, to move the clip 16 bars (i have to scroll endlessy) ??
did someone knows a way ?

if you want to have a clip snap to a non-bar boundary, even when zoomed far out, then there isn't a good way that I know of, but here's a trick I sometimes use:
create an empty track. It doesn't need to route anywhere, you are only using it as a guide. Now create a single bar aligned clip on that dummy track. Whenever you want to move a clip that does not have a bar aligned start, simply select the clip, and then also select the dummy clip you just created (multiple select uses the standard windows style hold down shift whilst selecting).
Now when you move your clip around, Tracktion will snap-to-grid the dummy clip, allowing your main clip to stay off beat.

I usually extend the clip forward to the nearest bar ahead of the actual start.
Or should that be backwards?

sadly there's no support for this in tracktion 
with real instruments recordings, its often needed.
