I was pretty disappointed in Diva. I do not own real analog synth nur Diva but by jajging this video i can hear magical and deep tone from analog and dead and lifness of Diva. But that is Youtube. I guess if the audio was high resolution Wave like 32bit/384 Khz the difference would be bigger. And if i had better audio equipment the difference would be even more greater.

Right now i have Lynx Hilo audio interface and Sennheizers HD800 headphones.

Thank god you changed your mind!

(you also realize that A is Diva and B is the Oberheim?)

There's one to change?

I had the opposite problem.

DIVA was pretty disappointed in me. :(

I do not remember what is what.
There is my comment under the video. You can read it.

P.s. Calm on people. I come with peace. Do not be angry people. If there are places to improve something then we need to improve. But not to be angry for whom notice problems.

Well, and what do you expect us to think of your statement?

I think we're all supposed to be wowed by his ability to toss a coin and get heads.

I'm personally baffled. Perhaps the most useless thread I've ever seen in KVR.

Diva is one hell of a great sounding synth, with terrific filters. I don't think that can be considered "just my opinion" either, the filters themselves were great enough to be requested added onto yet another great U-he synth by none other than maestro Hans Zimmer.
Ha ha suck it!

Hey, you are welcome to not use Diva if it disappoints you. However, just because you typed an off hand opinion, does not mean you have noticed a problem.

I think Diva is the most beautiful sounding soft-synth you can buy. It also compares favorably with analog synths.

"Yes you are right. Thank you for pointing our mistakes. We are working on better modeling so it will be as magical and deep as real analog. Ofcause it will require powerful computer, but people with weak computers can use low CPU mode."

But, the problem is, chilly, you are NOT right. You're delusional, man. Diva uses top of the crop modeling techniques available today. You're just ignorant about it.

Diva is good enough for Jean Michel Jarre and many others, next to their heaps of real analog synths. And who are you? A nobody, by comparison.

Please read my massege with zeal. I am not saying Diva is bad. As far as i know it is the best out of what i know. Maybe my Dcam Synth Squade which i use is not better in terms of quality. But the best does not means it is good. In case of Diva jajging by that video i can say analog has magical sound which Diva lucks.

Here's the thing. Diva's presets don't quite showcase the analog style sound that we all associate with analog synths. I do like many of them though, regardless. They also suffer from a bit too many effects. I remember when I first got Diva, I compared it to my ATC-1 and thought, "My ATC-1 isn't going anywhere." (it later did go somewhere... I sold it to fund an ATC-X!)

Then I kind of ignored poor little Diva. She's a bit bright and kind of "confident" sounding. I focused on analog hardware instruments, and software for very digital kinds of things like PM, FM and additive/spectral. I hit Diva up only from time to time for an analog poly pad.

Anyway, recently, I had to give up my main hardware analog modeling synth, my KingKORG. It was really awkward in my small studio and eventually it just became too much when my wife's mother came out to visit. (my studio doubles as a spare bedroom.) Hot off the heals of the famous Diva vs. OB-8 test, which I picked Diva, I figured I'd have to move back to using Diva more. I've touched her so little that I hadn't even really experimented at all with the Korg or JP-8000 modules. (which were included FOR FREE!) So, I started with an initialized patch and went to town. Here's what I found. Diva still has that bright tone and confident character, but as long as you're careful with the cutoff it can be pretty warm and the audio rate modulation stuff actually is pretty amazing. It does fall apart at very high notes doing osc sync and filter FM, but it's pretty damn good and in general use you won't notice it. I'm still keeping some analogs around, but that's because they have characteristics that Diva does not possess. However, Diva has characteristics that my analogs don't possess either. If you're comparing Diva to something and it's not the same you might be disappointed, but perhaps just explore her for what she is instead of looking at her at what she is not.
